Project:
Hole Dweller-like fanproject TBD Title.

TLDR: play this completed game, we will be making a fan project of that, you will be doing the (out-of-engine) art I will take care of the programming and writing.

Recently, ThighHighGames has annouced they are abandoning their new project Wolf Tower/Kingdom Holes and they do not seem to be pursuing NSFW game development anymore, having been on hiatus due to working a non NSFW job for a while. All the best to them, hope they are doing well. Hole Dweller in its hayday had quite a large following (like me) and the sequel/new project Kingdom Holes/Wolf Tower was eagerly awaited by fans, so the plan is to make a fan project/Hole Dweller inspired game continuing the legacy of Hole Dweller with similar concepts like:
- characters with multiple color schemes or 'outfits'
- customizable body parts
- numerous unlockable positions
- 2nd person dialogue
- light story elements
- H-Scenes with a gameplay interactive element
- stat grinding
- a simple and straightforward core gameplay loop.

Most importantly, to avoid Kingdom Holes repeating itself, the core gameplay loop & level design will be kept as simple as possible since that is arguably the most strenuous aspect of game developnent at least for a small team and isn't really necessary for this. Probably we can just do another management game with collecting items via a minigame and then giving them to characters in exchange for new things.

Developer:
- My F95 Account
- Discord ( Gaem maekor / @gaemmaekor_30466 )
- I am new to NSFW games but not new to games.
- I can demo some of my work with Unity and other games over an interview call, for privacy reasons will not be posting it on here.

Looking for:
- H-Scene artist comfortable creating assets for export to Unity, 3D or 2D negotiable.
- Output is compatible with an interactive H-Scene system, ex. minamlist rig for a low-poly 3D model which can easily be manipulated using the Unity in-engine animation system or 2D art where characters' individual limbs are seperate and can be rotated and transformed in-engine.
- This is negotiable, show off what you can do and I can see what I can come up with for implementation.
- Cartoony, low poly/low rez, simple, flexible art. Look at Hole Dweller's characters for example.
- I am open to a lot of different styles but realism is impossible with this genre and so is anything high definition.

Employment Type:
- Rev share

Work commitment:
- Short-medium term, hopefully I get the coding portion of it at a level of completeness that I can move on to other things within 6 months and periodically update the game with new art content depending on your schedule as an artist/artists. This is not to be a 'forever game' where we just keep adding things indefinetly or scope out some massive story that will take years to do, we'll do what we can in the span of a few months and then finish the game with some kind of simple ending. Quest to get maguffin, they get it, game ends, that's it.

Preferred method of contact:
- Posting here
- Discord

Job Description:
- Creating assets for the production of in-game H-Scenes cooperatively.
- If you could just create the characters & assets for implementing them that would be plenty. I can do a lot of the in-engine animating myself if need be. Although, if you can get in-engine and contribute to that that would also be great.
- THG animations are pretty simplistic and mostly just back and forth lerps in a variety of 'positions' so that's what the audience expects, so that should be plenty, and again, if you can't, I can.
- I can do literally everything else, programming, writing, design, etc. I have the time, experience, and skills. Under my actual name I've made much, much more ambitious projects than Hole Dweller that's not an issue.
- Given I don't have an artist and am looking for one, I will try and shift all the details of the game around to work with your pipeline, from mechanics to story, the main goal of this is to continue on the style of NSFW game creation that THG brought into existence so it doesn't die with their success in the plain-clothes job market, everything else is TBD.

Additional comments:
- If any non-artists see this, coders, writers, designers, say hi and pitch what you can do. I can do everything else besides art so I'm only actively looking for an artist but I don't mind sharing the project with others.
- When I say Hole Dweller-like, the characters, drilling minigame mechanics, and all other unique IP of THG's games will be distinct, think how Urban Demons is the template upon which ZR 1 & 2 and Demon Deals were based off. The plan is not to rip THG off, just to continue the style of game they created.
- THG if you see this, please communicate so we can do this in a way which is respectful towards the work you've done.

Update on this, I made a build today as a quick prototype of a concept I had for how the gameplay systems would work, imported a couple models off of smutbase, and did a little bit of animating in Unity using the animation system. It's not nearly enough for a demo release on here but, to anyone who is interested in contributing, I am open to going over it in like a discord chat or something. It's very, very doable programming wise.

Further updates: still working on the build.

Getting closer and closer to what I'd call my 'MVP', I ditched the 3D models just cuz they weren't working well and found another source of filler art which I make myself, which is time consuming but not more than I expected when it came to implementing the art assets anyway. This new filler art is 2D not 3D but when I had 3D models the implementation of those into the game wasn't the issue it was the models themselves being scuffed because how difficult unity is to work with and the fact I obviously don't have the original creators here to make changes to their files so I have to do all that myself, which I have no clue how to do right and hasn't produced good results. But given the implementation for both works, I'd say I was correct in the assumption that either style is fine as long as an inventive way of using the art is conceived.

From this point on I may make a dev diary thread separate from this one, post a link to that here, and then just leave this post as it is and bump it occasionally as long as I am still looking for people. I'll probably do that when I have MVP for a tech demo. Given my graduation schedule I dunno when exactly that'll be, it could be tomorrow night it could be next week, but after all the ceremony stuff and the move-out is done I'll have at minimum 2 months of time where I can just work on the build every day full time, and I'm pretty damn close to getting a 'tech demo' ready for prospective co-developers anyway.

I could conceivably solo dev this entire project into existence within that time period if I was dedicated enough to doing so and then just coast off of whatever patreon subscribers I manage to attract in that time with minor updates here and there as so many other people on this site have done but I'm not as jazzed about doing that. Having literally anybody else on the project as a source of art asset production would be great since frankly I do not enjoy it as much as I enjoy the programming aspect (although I was so livid I almost broke my keyboard the other night when witnessing the total bullshit Unity like to summon out of nowhere). Also, having a private repository would be nice...

Edit: One issue I should mention, environment art... I'm thinking of setting the game in space or like the sky just so I don't have to deal with buildings. Half of yesterday was spent wrestling with the engine while trying to import assets from the Unity asset store without their textures importing wrong, to no avail. It's not totally joever on that front there are more things I could do but I decided to work on other stuff as I wasted so much time on that yesterday and got nothing out of it. So, if anyone can do buildings, clouds, or asteroids or whatever, let me know cuz that would be real great....
