You are a mid to late 20s American who's been teaching in Japan for a few years now, enough time to see a whole class progress. And since those 4 years are up, with the system Japan has in place, to my research, teachers are shuffled around every 4 years, especially foreign teachers. Classic White American teacher, fluent in English and Japanese, why? Cause you're a weeb, or at least a former one, through and through. The idealized life in Japan from its media definitely propagandized you and here you are. 4 years in and burnt out on life, never having that dream experience in the states with adolescence, nor here. It seems you're being transferred from the middle of nowhere to a new middle of nowhere, that is, until you're given the offer for an...experiment of sorts. You are a good teacher, you brought up your last class from majority failing to majority B students, it's nothing to write a story about but it's impressive. The offer is, be transferred to a remote school on a newly revitalized island just off of Kyoto, only connected to the mainland by a bridge. It's both a ploy to give on last chance to a small group of girls (I'm thinking at least 9, but it depends on how I can make the combat system function and if my time/budget flows a lot better but 9 students and some of the fellow faculty will be the routes) who for one reason or another would flunk out and ruin their futures just as their about to enter them, them all being 18 or around that now but entering their final years. The other side of it is, it's to boost the island's economy through tourism as many companies have sunk a lot of money into developing it, if a miracle teacher can bring these students to the top, that means more applicants to the island, which means higher notoriety which means rich families sending their girls to the school. You'll be competing with another school though at the opposite end of the island. But here's the catch, you have your first day, it's a genuine sign of hope, something straight out of a slice of life anime, and then something weird happens. Someone shambles up to the gate, the lone security guard tries to casually dismiss and then suddenly.
Crunch
He's being eaten alive. It's a zombie outbreak, end of the world type of thing. You and your students seem to be immune to it, which is great. It's your duty though as the sole male protector of them now to make sure they get off the island safe and back to their families, but the bridge was destroyed and it's miles to the mainland. One of your students claims that they saw a jet drop something on it, but they are from Okinawa and it didn't look like anything the US military has. So now your goal is this: survive, rebuild some semblance of society with your students and what's left of your fellow faculty, comfort your students and try to live out that ideal "adventure-life" out of an anime you all dreamed of. All the while figure out the mystery of the outbreak and what's really going on with the island.
Further discussion has brought to life some factors to address
-RPG Maker game and 4 party style RPG
-Visual novel elements and lengths of dialogue
-Resource allocation and management
Any help regarding artists namely for background, pixel, or character focused are appreciated.
