Hello! I’m looking for someone who’d like to make small, casual games together. My main goal is to get better at both art and game development, and it’d be great to share the process with someone. I would like to focus on the art, code and development of the game, while you'd ideally focus on the ideas, world building, writing etc.
In terms of the theme of the game I’m very open to ideas. I just want projects we can actually finish without drowning in overly ambitious ideas.
I imagine this as an ongoing, casual “mini game jam” where we try out things we think sounds cool. I'd love to do some brainstorming.
I also much like to keep things simple. So I want to use Godot as the game engine, and I want to use 2D art. I don't want 3D or AI.
Project:
- I don't have one, yet. That's where you come in (hopefully).
Developer:
- I’m a programmer, comfortable with Godot, and I’m using this as a way to improve my 2D art skills.
Looking for:
- Someone who enjoys coming up with concepts. A writer or someone with ideas about game mechanics, the world or the story in general. No experience is required, you just need to be interested in practicing your craft and having a good time making games.
Employment Type:
- Unpaid. If we should ever get to the stage of actually releasing a game, we would of course share whatever profit it would make.
Work commitment:
- I don't have too much time myself (a few hours each day), so I wouldn't expect too much of you either. Again, the goal is to have fun and improve. I’m happy with whatever pace works for you.
Preferred method of contact:
- Discord
Job Description:
- Ideally you already have a few game ideas or stories you'd like to make come to life. You would be directing the game development, and writing most of the story, dialogue etc.
