Project:
My project is an (for now) unnamed genetics simulation colony management game set on a strange, new continent that the player and their crew have landed and are settling upon. This game is made with many goals in mind, however among them is the goal of banishing the "curse" set on the genetic simulation genre by the death of Breeding Season.
Should you choose to involve yourself in this project, I will give you a voice call and explain in greater detail my grander plan with this game, but I will elaborate a smaller, more brief version of my plan here:
It can be learned through the observation of games like Fort of Chains that if you make a game that is interesting and fun, regardless of how crude or imbalanced it might be, you can quickly build a community around it. While other such games have built a sizable Patreon fund around this community, we will be going in the opposite direction.
The goal here is to obtain talent to create a smaller version of the grander, bigger game that we want to make. The smaller version hereon will be referred to as "inferior" and the bigger one will be called "superior."
The reason why we are to make an inferior version of the game is multifold, but to pick a major reason, we would bemaking an inferior version to hammer out the kinks and make sure the gameplay loop is fun. There are more benefits to proceeding with the inferior version, but this is among the major ones.
After the inferior version of the game is made, debugged, and in a worthy state, it should attract a sizable audience who are interested in this kind of game. Then, having achieved this, the superior version of this game would be developed and released for money, and its developers would recieve pay for their efforts.
There is more to discuss regarding this game and its development, but for a brief description, this is sufficient.
Developer:
Despite what the long and elaborate plan and explanation I have given prior might lead you to believe, I have never created any games yet. I am an aspiring game developer and want to create video games mainly because I have ideas that I believe would be fun to explore, and I want to contribute said ideas to the game community. This is my first ever project, and is very much a learning experience for me. Should you want to discuss things with me further, I encourage you to send me a DM on f95.
Looking for:
I am mainly looking for three talents: programming, 2d art, and music composition.
This game being free however, I would love to speak with anybody that would like to contribute to this game.
Employment Type:
The inferior version of the game will be unpaid, but theres is nothing stopping you from persisting to the superior version, which will be paid.
Work commitment:
I have a unique work schedule for anybody that wants to work on this game with me. It is flexible to whatever you need within reason and goes as follows:
Every Monday, I will hold a briefing setting the goal for that week for everyone involved who is on board. This goal may be worked on at any time within the week, but the official ""work days"" are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the evenings. I will be open for communication at any time, and encourage you to do so, but this is the dedicated time to communicate and work on the game. That being said, the work requirements are extremely flexible, and I may move dedicated days around depending on the requirements of my team.
Preferred method of contact:
If you are interested in joining the project, or contributing at all in any sense, I highly encourage you to DM me. From there, I'll invite you to a dedicated project discord.
Additional comments:
Though the manner in which I make this job posting may lead you to believe I may discuss things in a strictly professional manner, the overall attitude of this project may be completely different than such. This project is one I am making in the pursuit of making something cool, and not strictly one for profit. Were I to choose between having a determined, extremely professional team and one where everyone involved has fun making it, I would choose the latter.
Please, if you have any questions or would like to join, DM me.
Thank you
