lost entire daz folder

I suppose (actually I hope) a similar problem some of you already encountered, but this is new for me and I couldn't find any proper solution. Basically I came back from 2 weeks of Holliday and today I checked Daz studio website for free content they provide from time to time, i purchased it and downloaded and installed using Daz install manager, there was some info about updating some software but I didn't pay any attention to it, later I started Daz studio and to my surprise basically all data is gone from smart content. My panic mode significantly increased when i manually checked the daz studio folder on my PC and realised it only contains approx. 400 mb data compared to probably about 70-80 GB from before, also all my customised folders with scenes, characters and renders are gone. It seems to me like an entire folder with daz studio and with library disappeared like it almost would be manually deleted or moved somewhere. Please help cause I'm very close to having a heart attack.

Firstly, check the trash bin to see if it's here, just in case.

This being said, are you sure that the folder effectively disappeared ? It happen time to time that Daz Studio update it's working directories, and since it's Daz, expecting the code to be bug free is a bad idea. Therefore it's possible that your content is still here, but in another folder, the one you were using and that Daz Studio isn't using anymore.

well the folder with daz which I created myself is there but only with subfolders like people, data etc. although its almost nothing there
I think that something happened to my hard drive, apart from losing daz content I also lost all content on steam ( I mean games are on my profile but it shows that all of them needs re-installing ????). Another interesting thing is that local disk D: on which I kept all daz and steam content still appears full like data is still there.
Anyway I did some reading of internet articles about my problem and downloaded some recovery data programs to get back all my renders and later decided to format disk D: and now third day I'm downloading back all daz data
