Hey ~
I wanted to take the time to write down some praises to RedEye Samurai for the hard work he has done on this game. I discovered this mod recently and I must say I’m absolutely amazed by the work accomplished. I played Project X : Love potion Disaster loooong time ago, when the game was still in development by Zeta Team ; until it was abandonned by the Team (and myself included, by extension).
When I discovered this mod, I was a bit intrigued… but I did not expect such level of effort ! To such an extent that, when I finished this mod, I replayed the « official game » to compare the differences… and all changes made are even more flagrant !
First of all – obviously – the game has finally a conclusion, with the addition of more levels and animations for every character. I was quite pleased about it when I saw Cream and Blaze finally had their own animation in stage 4 (that was missing in the « official game »)… And I was even more pleased when I discovered every new animations for each character, also of the highest quality.
Speaking of the animations, they are really excellent, with lots of detailed drawn enemies and smooth animation. Besides, the game in general is blessed with art direction of a high order (for example, with the backgrounds and the HUD, which are way better than in the original).
And I’m not even talking about the gameplay, way more enjoyable and smoother (especially with the hitbox that was – in the original game – a disaster, not gonna lie). An amazing job has been done, that the least I could say !
I’m not going to make an exhaustive list of every changes that has been made (I mean, that’s why the change log exist xD), but I’m still impressed by each and every addition RedEye Samurai’s made, so that’s why I wanted to congratulate him.
If technically, this game will always be referred as a « mod » of the « official game », I have no difficulty nor shame to say that the real Project X : Love Potion Disaster game is this mod ! A game that, not only met our expectations, but also managed to beat them, thanks to the immeasurable work accomplished.
Well done, RedEye Samurai !
As an additional point, by scrolling a bit the comments, I’ve read that RedEye Samurai was working on a new project. I’m not entirely sure if it’s true, but I can tell that I will stay tune to any news on RedEye Samurai’s work. Considering the quality of this « mod », it will certainly be an excellent game, so I’m looking forward to see the result !
