Talking about beaches - I love them in winter (northern Europe). Maybe it's not swimming season, but they're great nonetheless.

Guys, can someone teach this noob how to raise kink points? Aside from the occasional "talk" option (available only for some characters on very specific lines), and gifting the kink raising book (which only nets one measly kink point) are there no other ways to raise kp? Also, getting really blue balled here...have high lp on multiple chars (50+) but I have no idea how to unlock sex scenes?

Some of the event/dialogue options
Slapping butt (once it is high enough to not get a irksome response)
Patting their head
Probably some gift(s) from the sex shop.
Some options during sex scenes
Watching bondage porn with them
Sometimes kissing another in front of them.

You fucked up the event, that's all there is to it. Old save or restart. You can change the variables however you will break your save 9 times out of 10 meaning you'd have to pick one of the previous options anyway.
