New version of the game is. You will meet a vestal virgin Junia - a member of a powerful priestess class and you will have to deal with her shenanigans. Also more content at the public baths with Livia and Aemilia. For more info, check the change log. Cheers and have fun.

It's cool that Ludus Master gets new updates. Would be great, if additional slave types would be added, too. Nubians, Greeks and Germanics always seemed to be a bit too generalizing. I think a Celtic (Gauls & Britons) slave type is missing, which were far more common than Germanics btw.

For more variation and also historical reasons, I'd appreciate it, if more slave types would be added to the game, than just the 3 present ones. Apart from missing Celts, Mid-Easterners are also missing (Syrians and Nabatean Arabics were very common as slaves, too, during the Roman Empire.) In general I think more variation concerning slave backgrounds would be a nice addition.

Also the totally randomized appearances of these slaves could be a bit more adjusted. F.e. Nubians with red hair are rather unrealistic... while too many Germanics have jet black hair, etc...

In general, there is not much problem in adding new types, so it is possible I will do that. The reason why there is 3 of them right now, is that there are 3 main attributes and each type specialize in one - germans in beauty, greeks in intelligence and nubians in vitality.

i just found a bug in the 1.4 version, with the slaves' inventory.i can't equip them with anything, when i am at the equipment tab in a slave's inventory,it only allows me to take back whatever i've given her.and that happened right after i gave some equipment to cornelia.i can still use cornelia's equipement, but only hers, other slaves' equipment is bugged out.

I get that, but new types could still fit in by f.e. making Celts a compromise of beauty and vitality (they won't be as beautiful as Germanics, but still more beautiful than all the others, they could also have increased vitality, but not as vital as Nubians. So Celts could fit in perfectly as a compromise of beauty and vitality.
Middle Easterners (Arabs, Syrians, Egyptians) f.e. could specialize in obedience and/or submission (I know that training slaves is part of the fun, but they could just have a significant bonus compared to the others) , because in Antiquity from a Greek and Roman perspective the East like Egypt and Persia always stood for tyranny, so the slaves deriving from the Middle East would be more used to submission than all the other backgrounds. They would simply get a boost on submission and obedience related training and have higher starting skills in these specific traits. Since they were considered to be more civilized, than f.e. Celts, Germanics or Nubians, they could also be a compromise for intelligence. They wouldn't be able to surpass Greeks concerning intelligence, but they would have better intelligence stats than the other backgrounds.

Like this you don't have to change your system with 3 main attributes. The 2 new slave backgrounds would be just compromises of the existing ones.

Just as a humble suggestion, but it would add a lot of variety to the game in my opinion.

Also slave appearances shouldn't be completely random any more. Maybe you can set boundaries or restrictions to the way they spawn?
  • Germanics should have fair skin only and blonde, red and brunette hair, but not jet black (for Germanics I'd make red hair less common, especially if you plan to add Celts)
  • Greeks should cover the spectrum between fair skin and slight tan and have brunette or black hair.
  • Nubians should exclusively have dark skin and black hair (no red hair and no blondes).
  • If you add Celts they should have fair skin and red, blonde or brunette hair (but I'd make red hair the most common for Celts)
  • If you add Middle Easterners they could be a compromise between Nubians and Greeks from their looks (give them more tan than the Greeks, but less than Nubians and black hair)

I mean since you mention Egypts as part of the middle east here, makeing them a combi of beauty and intelligence seems more fitting.
The middle east is where culture started and the tanned skin of Egypt women was considered beautiful in rome (Cleopatra being the most beautiful woman of the known world and all).
There is also the fact that the middle east was brought into the Alexandrian empire and given their vast ancient knowledge it wouldn't be that strange.

Sorry, but I disagree, because of Cleopatra. Cleopatra was of Greek descent, her whole family the Ptolemaic dynasty was Greek, not Egyptian.

They ruled over Egypt since the death of Alexander the Great and adopted Egyptian customs in order to increase the acceptance of the population and the priestly caste. After all they had a legitimization problem as foreign rulers/conquerors.

In Roman sources only Cleopatra (who was of Greek descent) was praised for her beauty, not Egyptians in general.

Tanned skin also wasn't seen as beautiful in ancient Rome. The Romans had tanned people themselves, it was nothing special, but fair skin was seen as a sign of beauty and wealth (not having to work in the sun). Even to this day Italians adore blondes and fair skin the most. There are no records, that Romans considered people from Syria, Persia or Egypt to be extraordinarily beautiful.

For me it makes more sense, if they would get the intelligence bonus and a submission/obedience bonus.

I feel like what should matter about adding more races would be the visual differences and what is available in the other games, and what is missing here.

I can't really think of many off the top of my head since a lot of the girls in wol are supernatural. But there are probably some faces not used for this found in total seduction.

I guess the island girls in wol are sort of tan but without the nubian facial features in this, they could be added as something

Nofretete was also considered the most beautiful women of her time aswell...
I get it that Romans preffered lighter skin tones but there are several remarks in history saying that especially Egypt royality was among the most beautiful women of their time, Persia also has some records about their women being considered beautiful in differnt eras.
The game likely plays dureing Cesar or Augustus times I'd assume so Alexanders era would be over already but the romans fascination with the conqueror should still be strong
