I'm currently stuck where you are asked to eat something. There is a glowing mushroom but you can't interact with it.

i did the bit where the dude eats the mushroom, now every time they leave the room the guy catches you and the game freezes, i have to close and reopen but i'm still stuck

Did you try hitting enter or moving on it?
