I would also expect a girl to storm off, but at the same time, Yumi doesn't come off as someone who would do that on the fly unless she had already cheated which changes the situation a bit because in real life when a woman cheats, she intentionally seeks out to find proof that her man is cheating as justification for her cheating and when she finds even the slightest hint of possibly cheating she will lash out and start blaming him.Well, this scene looks plausible, I would expect a girl to storm out without hearing anything. I just miss the details that led to this point - she went to some abstract sauna, Nick suddenly left to sauna as well, the MC not questioning about sauna at all, no single picture of that sauna. Too quick and too superficial.
So that's the only thing we can assume that happened, without visual proof that this had happened.
On the other hand, we can only assume that she had just walked in and witnessed for herself Poppy putting the moves on Kai and planting a kiss on him, so it's not as detailed to note yet that she walked in on them already kissing, because the kiss literally seemed to happen within the span of less than a second and then was immediately broken. So she had to have taken a few steps in, caught Kai talking some random girl up at the bar and decided to watch and/ or eavesdrop. So If we're to assume that that's the case, that reaction even further makes no sense for her to storm out. Instead what most girls in that situation does, is immediately approach and get all hostile against the woman, not the man whom clearly did nothing other than sit there all drunk in a stupor. Yumi should've went all ballistic on Poppy to get all territorial over Kai. Instead she storms out and for some reason decides the best way to get back at Kai for Poppy kissing him is to find and hook up with Leon, someone she had just met and happens to be her boyfriends older brother, that same night. Both situations make no sense.
I know we don't have any confirmation that Yumi slept with Leon, that it was all supposedly Kai's imagination running wild, but that situation escalated way too fast to get to that point when there was no escalation picking up to it, it's not like Yumi had enough encounters (Day 1) where she's witnessing and suspecting that Kai is cheating on her by witnessing other girls being around Kai to be suspicious of to begin with, and that this moment was THE moment that broke the camels back for her to storm off and suddenly decide that she's going to lie to Kai about sleeping with Izzy just to go running to Leon and staying at his pod.
No I'm talking about in the heat of the argument like as soon as he starts speaking his mind to argue his points to her, the second she "stands up" for herself to argue back firing off on him, he instantly caves and immediately starts trying to backpedal. In that moment I'm saying that feels forced. After the argument is where he sits in the pod in silence lamenting and blaming himself, which also feels forced. Kai does not come off as someone who is stupid/ dense or irrational, it's perfectly reasonable for a boyfriend to freak out and try to understand or make sense of the situation because that scene where she just throws off her clothes almost without question or a second thought made that scene seem like she was expecting it and had been looking forward to this situation the whole time.I didn't find that forced. On the contrary, that's a very typical reaction after the fight, questioning yourself whether you overreacted, especially when the loved one storms out.
At no point in the beginning did we get any inner-monologue from Yumi saying how thrilled or excited she is about going to a Nudist Resort and that information somehow escapes Kai whom is supposed to be depicted as the one in the group who's the most "shocked" by this revelation. While at the same time, Yumi has the nerve to react the way she did instead of understanding Kai's perspective as if she somehow knew that Kai knew that this was a Nudist Beach Resort but she is obviously mistaken?
That's why the fights between the two feel forced. A Nudist Beach plot device explaining to introduce this "Shock Tension" doesn't help much when that shock tension is only applied to Kai. Both Nick and Izzy should've been equally shocked, and most of all Yumi. How can Kai, whom seems to come off as a reasonably intelligent person, be the only one out of the loop and not know that the tickets that Nick and Izzy gave him were for the Site B Nudist side of the Resort? I'm just wondering if there was something I missed. Either Nick was plotting this situation the entire time and didn't tell Kai (his best buddy bromance) that he was planning a trip to a Nudist Beach Resort Site B, or they all didn't have any idea which means all four of them should've been "Shocked" by it, regardless of how Nick and Izzy are explained away as just being "Wild" like that where in Kai's mind rationalizes that it "makes sense" for them.
In a previous discussion (while they're all on the double date and afterwards alone in the bedroom discussing it), Yumi admits she has a fetish for being looked at, and then she explains to Kai what she means by that, and then later Kai exclaims to Nick that he's okay with dudes looking at Yumi so long as nobody touches. So it should've made even more sense to Yumi especially for why he's suddenly "shocked" when she bares it all with seemingly no hesitation.
I don't know. So like I said before, I'm gonna give this a few months of updates to solidify my opinion. Either way my opinion I don't want it to matter or influence the Dev in any way I want the Dev to make them game they initially envision. I'm just letting my nerd poindexter to heavily rack my mind. I like and appreciate a good story to accommodate with good visuals and I feel like this VN could be one of them. So maybe I've overly exaggerating a concern and being completely unnecessary voice.
