You assume the developer is being forced to cater to the whims of the people against his volition. For all we know, he probably did this on purpose to capitalize on it. Many of these patreon and early-access projects are what I like to call "rent-a-dev", where you basically pay money in order to have a product tailored to your tastes. The dev pitches in the basic idea while you steer the rest of development. If nothing else, this serves to engage with the community and keep them interested in the project.
The point is, nobody forced the dev to go down this path. There is some benefit to making your project public; it allows you to gauge interest and troubleshoot things faster. The caveat is that it can lead to people becoming a little too invested in its direction and wanting to change things to cater their tastes. The industry has... hmm... let's say "spoiled" people a bit, in that regard. In the past games were developed behind locked doors and nobody knew what they were getting until it released.
Nowadays, mainstream industry has been pressured into catering to every crowd imaginable in order to maximize profit and avoid releasing a product people dislike. And this trend has trickled down to indie games as well. Ideally, there should be a balance between involving the community and independent creativity. Easier said than done though...
Where does this "Dev is Forced" come from, he literally did it himself and it's his choice to go down this path.
Yes maybe afterall the dev just want to do human concentric contents, And I just got the wrong impression.
But "Commission" is different from "Game development", the former is a one-off thing, the latter is a whole package. If you fragmenting the contents, you will just get fragments. That's also why there are so few finished good porn games.
The sad thing is many (especially porn) devs are more keen to your "rent-a-dev" method, they are basically just providing a service.
The peak example are those gatcha games, you basically pay (Crazy amount of) money for porn, monthly - they are not so different from those porn art package Patreons.
Listen to feedback is good, but when you let your Patreon to decide the contents - you will at best get some nice arts, never a good game.
The mass all want different things / the mass don't know what they want, as a game dev it's your job to create / deliver something based on your vision.
A good game can stand against time, while good porn will be flushed out and no one will even remember them, and people will eventually get bored of the project - you can basically look at any project that developed more than 5 years and see what state they are in now.
But again maybe these devs only want to make a living by providing such "service", there's nothing wrong with it.
It's just not a "gamer" such as myself want.
That's the frustration from a gamer, in the envirement of "Modern gaming"(tbh let game become commission is not even on the top list).
No, Alastor is the weapons smith. Hakkon is the alpha alien who can be recruited from the sewer mission on Akra. He's obsessed with breeding.
And yeah, as the other poster said, Hakkon is the alien creature that is just naked muscles and penis-finger-tentacles.
No shit, I love that guy, that's one of the fine example of LO's amazing Alien design.
