Ren'Py - Lust Theory [S3 E3] [Inceton Games]

The voice acting is what makes this really stand out. The two actresses do a great job of differentiating the characters and make it a significantly different experience from your average game. The writing is good overall and supports the differences between the characters. The models are well done, and render and animation quality is good as well, with a couple of very nice scenes.

Absolutely loved this game. I just wished it was even longer (haven't even played season 2 yet).

Nice original twist on the standard story. Great writing (both dialogue and arc). Absolutely stunning models.

Great payoff.

EDIT: Seson 2 (EP 7.5), although not finished, was good but not AS good. Story got a bit messy and the girls became a bit too easy to conquer but overall still fantastic and I hope it finishes on a high note.

Echoes of Lust [S2 E7.5] [Inceton]

"Echoes of Lust" I must say that my overall experience with the game was a bit of a rollercoaster, though leaning more towards the negative side.

Let's start with the story, which is a crucial aspect of any game. Unfortunately, in "Echoes of Lust," the story felt like it was struggling to find its footing. It was slow-paced, often tedious, and failed to engage me fully. The narrative's limited scope made many events seem like mere filler, lacking any significant impact or purpose. One of the most frustrating aspects was the lack of a clear sense of day progression. Without this, it became challenging to understand which actions or choices had consequences, leaving me feeling a bit lost in the game's world.

The protagonist didn't fare much better in terms of character development. Throughout the game, their growth was sorely lacking. It was frustrating to see the protagonist repeatedly act surprised by outcomes that they should have anticipated, given their experiences. This made the character feel one-dimensional and detached from the overall story, which was a significant letdown.

One questionable feature in the game was the inclusion of a "red button" that allowed characters to be stripped during scenes. This felt like a cheap gimmick that undermined any sincerity or emotional impact in those moments. It seemed as if the game prioritized titillation over storytelling, which was quite disappointing and detracted from the overall experience.

However, there were some strengths in "Echoes of Lust," particularly in the character writing. The characters themselves were well-defined, with depth to their personalities. It was evident that effort had gone into crafting their individual stories and traits, which was commendable. These characters added some much-needed depth to the game.

Occasional comedy moments sprinkled throughout the game provided some relief from the monotony, but these moments were too sparse and often overshadowed by the long-winded and uninspiring events that surrounded them.

Visually, the game was passable but not particularly remarkable. The graphics, animations, posing, and lighting did the job but failed to stand out. The only noticeable inconsistency was the protagonist's character design, which seemed to have been overlooked.

One of the most significant issues with "Echoes of Lust" was its pacing, or rather, its lack thereof. The developer's reluctance to advance the story and constant stalling made the experience feel lackluster. Many potentially engaging scenarios fell flat due to the drawn-out progression, leading to frustration rather than excitement.

In conclusion, "Echoes of Lust" had its merits, particularly in character writing and occasional humor. However, the frustrating aspects, including the stagnant protagonist, lack of day progression, and reliance on gimmicks, overshadowed these strengths. While there may be some enjoyment to be had for those patient enough to endure the tedium, it ultimately left me wanting more substance and less filler.

At the beginning they will think that it is good but in the second season everything is bad from the absurdity of the story falling more and more it only looks good but it is not a great thing since there are other games with better graphics and history.

Well lets say the game has nice renders, and decent sex scenes. For the rest the girls look the same as any other girls hot or not of any other game when the poses are dificult and "bendy" which happens always during sex, and in this game its no different, so i will say that ni the visual department, unless makes something that is a breakthrough, its average. Both for season one and 2, even in regualr poses some girls look kind of meh like zoe that looks like she has some issues with her hipbones, her curves are the ones of a 80 year old.

The story is where the issue is placed, and its related with how the reset time works.
During season one, you get to perform stuff, and for game design reasons things escalate thaks to the ability of finding knowledge and makein that knowledge usful in the right moments.
At some point its hinted that somehow things are changing and maybe some actions are creating a butterfly effect and taht effect could have an impact in how things evolve, even after reseting the days.
This is exactly where the issue is, at the end of season one, days are not resetting anymore, but the events that transpire to season 2 are handpicked for "plot"convenience and many of the events the thigns you got in Season 1 were forgotten or picked from a point that is convenient so the game can "start over" in season 2.

In my opinon this "butterfy effect" doesnt match with the begining of season 2 at all, cause as i said they kind of erased many things, and altered others with convenient continuity. In my opinion is like everything from Season 1 was a dream, cause only the MC remembers it, but the people involved doesnt, which protects the "plot" (meaning the marketing).

At some point Zoe asks the MC what he did to her in one of the variations, and he doesnt confess, so, as I said, the girls involved in the things dont know about it, which i repeat it protects the product, cause allows to to do the same thing again, the same game (which increases the profit) but the new game is just a big patch, after screweing the end of the precious game on purpose. The point here is ITS THE SAME GAME.

As i said many times, i play games for the story, without story, i prefer watching VR porn, and in this game they rewrote the story so many of the things you did actually didnt happen. And in the process there are plotholes, but why writing the story well, when you can toss a lot of free nudes and call it slut button?

The game didnt have the most exicing content in my opinion but erasing it conveniently to make a clone of the same game, making me lose 6 hours of my miserable life in the process, is not good for any rating.

I think with all this text i explained why my game experience was poor and why i give this rating. I'm crazy so dont take my word as an absolute truth, play it yourself.

Simply the best game in the forum.
After a really good first chapter the story is still freash.
This game has everything , excellent sex scenes, one of the few games that never had a bug, easy to play.

This is fucking brilliant. Just finished S1, and it was a lot of fun.
I mean yeah, if you don't like the huge penis trope which makes all girls crazy, then you may not like the game. but i don't care much.
what i care is that the characters are interesting. the story is fun. the models are great! and the scenes are sexy as hell.

Played mostly everything when released (this review was made on S2E7)

Story:
Really interesting stuff right here, safe to say this is unique.
Only bad point is having to watch mostly everything (can't skip a specific girl for example).

It's mostly all around the MC, would actually be cool if we could set someone up with someone they like for a change (like Micky or Taylor).

Overall the story is great and the characters "loveable".

My personal preference on the fine selection of ladies:
I really like Jessica, Megan. Nicole, Amy and Ellie.
Zoe and Chloe are okay, I don't mind having to watch them and they play a nice role on Jessica and Megan stories.
Elizabeth is not really my thing, but I understand some people love her and her role, I just wish I could skip it.

Some extras look really nice too, can't wait for some content with them.

Originality:
There is a feature I haven't seen before in all the games I played, the special renders or special angles:
-Basically you can press a button that let's you see another version of a render where the girls is wearing different or no clothing;
-And another button that let's you see different angles of the same moment (upskirts, and fan-service shots).

Renders:
The quality is on point. Almost everything on this section is perfect.

Only bad point I dislike is the quality of the "cream".
I dunno what was used to make them but I wish they used better "liquids".
It might be something minor but this disappointed me a lot.

I'd say this is maybe one of the best vn games i found around here, the renders look great, has lots of animations, updates seems to be frequent and have lots of things to do, the firts season has good VA for the girls and i'm hoping they are back for season 2 when it gets finished, already bought their games on steam i would support them on patreon if i could (shitty restrictions on dollars on my country)

At first I was afraid, I was petrified that grind will be unreal thanks to the whole premise of reapiting same day over and over again. THANKS GOD it isn't. Game itself is good, above avarage imo thanks to nice models, good plot idea and surpringly well-made voice acting.

One big negative for me are ladies. As much as I love them models, their characters are somewhat shallow. All are just horny ladies with one personality trait and lust for big D.
Also there was one thing that really was immersion breaking there are 2 somehow connected, one of them is in love with MC and waited for his move for a long time and other one is supposed to be prude or something. I expected them to be virgins or low-experience gals but from their behaviours and how they talk it seems like they banged half of school already

irrational behavior:
Bitches be crazy, that's basically the mindset of the writer while writing this story!
The ridiculous behavior of most women in this game is stunning. you do what they want or do the opposite, it's not really gonna make much of a difference cuz there's no way to predict how the characters might react! you're nice to a girl she gives you head, you act like an ass she gives you sex. you're mean to her she'll get mad at you fuck fuck you later. this game has one of the most unrealistic female mindsets and behaviors I've seen.

The big dick problem:
Your behavior and its effect don't matter cuz apparently in this game all that girls care about is a big dick! it doesn't matter how you treat them, the moment they see the bulge, all their internal dialogues are about "Mmmm, how big" or "God that looks huge" or "Jeez I wonder how it feels in me?!" I mean, I get it, the MC got a ridiculous package, chill Dev, you're ruining the immersion.
why do you make his dick size the hook with literally every single girl in the game? I mean so far all of the girls that did something sexual with the MC only did it cuz they were so hypnotized by his massive member! he had no sex appeal to any of the girls other than his dick!

No character development:
None of the women in this game have any character development other than "She horny"!
Granted Jessica and the Teacher had a really good development but literally, everyone else is as one-dimensional as humanly possible!
Every girl in this game is just ( Horny girl + 1 trait = character)
~ Meg is just a horny girl that is jealous! horny girl+jealous=Meg
~ The best friend is just a horny girl with a crush! horny girl+crush=best friend
~ the cosplay girl is just a horny girl into cosplay! horny girl+cosplay= Ellie
~ sex shop girl is just a horny girl into weird shit! horny girl+weird shit=sex shop girl
~ Mom is just a horny girl with depression! horny girl+depression=Mom
they have no other character traits, no layers, no development beyond this!

Half-assed commitment to Incest:
either don't do incest or commit to it. this is a very half-assed attempt to the MC with 2 sisters and a Mom. their dynamic and interactions don't feel like a family, it feels like they're playing family. the MC lusts after his supposed "Sisters" and "Mom" without any conflict in his inner thoughts!
not to mention the fact that the voice acting never mentions anything about "sister" - "Brother" - "Mom" - "Incest" kinda breaks the immersion.
and even in dialogue texts, it's clear they're trying to stay as safe a possible.
I mean I get it, they don't wanna lose their Patreon, but there are a lot of other games with Incest as the main theme on Patreon that handled incest better without losing their Patreon.

EVERYTHING ELSE IS GREAT:
Yup, other than my previous complaints about the game, everything else is pretty good;
the idea for the game is solid.
the game gives you hints itself so there's no need for walkthroughs.
the MC is actually interesting (it's a shame that the girls notice nothing but his dick!!)
The story is good.
The voice acting is a nice touch even though I didn't care for it.

TLDR: This is the kind of game that makes me wish we could do 1/2 point ratings so I could give it a 4.5 BUT that said the renders/animations are insanely good and the story is fun enough to be well worth your time. Just be prepared for an inconsistent MC.. 80% douchebag.. 20% feels bad about it.

Renders/Animations
Out of this world. I'm definitely new enough to not have seen all the content but having tried quite a few of the more popular titles I can definitely say this one sets an insanely high bar.

The only negative is that having one girl on the smaller cup size would give some variety for those who appreciate that kind of thing. I'm not saying a loli tagged girl but someone like Megan down a size.

Writing
The writing itself is pretty good with a story that is fun and unique. English is usually spot on (or good enough) so it doesn't pull you out.

What really ends up hurting things though (and is where I'd ding 1/2 star) is the lack of consistency. MC wants to bang everything.. MC is upset his life has just become about banging everything.. oh wait back to banging everything. MC feels bad about being an asshole.. oh wait he's being an asshole again. MC cares about the fact the day may switch... okay maybe not so much.. oh wait who cares about the day switching! Can we please just get some consistency here? Oh and he shouldn't be intentionally using his zero power phrase prior to actually realizing how the power works.. that was a bit of a 'Wha? why is he saying that and how does he know what it does?' moment the first time he did it on purpose. I suspect there is just a pathing issue there.

One thing to mention is people complaining about the difference in Megan between S1/S2. This gets explained via the butterfly effect and is even explicitly called out as the MC not understanding the effect he had so I'm actually fine with this. Honestly it even feels a little creepy in the Lessons in Love way which is cool.

Characters
For the most part the characters feel pretty distinct from each other. That said on the scale of Chloe to DMD this one gets a little too close to the Chloe side of things. I understand this is 100% a limitation of the story timelines but if you're looking at building your own similar story I'd suggest spreading it over more days so not everyone has to start in secretly a slut mode.

Echoes of Lust? more like a Echoes of Cockblocking.. After completing season One, that's conclusion. Everyone is getting the fun behind the scene. Girls are banging and plan to bang anyone but MC. its crazy party and you are not invited.. All girls in story (what story?) are whores. their behind screen adventures killed are mood and interest for me.

Premise at start of story interesting but killed very soon by imbecile MC and none existent story development, no character development. Characters and animation look good but they alone are not enough. Even if you want only quick fap and are not interested in story, there is nothing for you. again all action are done behind scene by LI (if you can call them that) to other guys but not you. It feels like WTF am I doing here? Also it would have been good changing every day loop to 5 or 7 days. that way story would have progressed better and would have some semblance of developing relationship between MC and LIs

The animations are out of this world! They've improved a lot over the last few years. So many great storylines that keep evolving and getting better. Loving the long scenes too. Very excited to see how the story keeps developing! Keep up the good work!

A game with the premise that you're 1 or 2 days' worth of good choices away from fucking your mom, your sisters, your teacher, your friends, some random new girl at school, etc.

The entire plot is about dealing with cockblocks one step at a time until you finally get the prize, then move on to the next girl and repeat. The game never actually stops to let you learn about the girls.

The renders are pretty good, but I feel like I've seen every character in a bunch of different games. The animations during sex have gotten annoying, forcing you to click through menus to progress, with sex-talk that leaves much to be desired.

I'd say that this game is good for just a fap if it wasn't built around cockblocking and the MC blowing his load super early.

I only played the first chapter or episode or whatever this is. I didn't intend on playing any future content also. I couldn't get into the story of the idiot MC that rapes everyone slowly over and over again, or sleep sex is what they're calling it. Your housemates are slowly falling for you the more you do it, it's a pass. Not a lot you can do with this whole Groundhog Day storyline, I'm sure the Devs trying to see what sticks at this point.

Renders: Probably the only good thing about the game.

Animations: Decent.

Characters:
Idiot MC, curious/slut sister, bitch big sister, lonely mom that drinks. That's about it.

Story: Couldn't get into it, some of it was just laughable and didn't make sense.

Gameplay: Passable.

Having played first part only, I can say that this game deserve 5 stars as is one of the game with greater production values from all the forum. Having all the game voiced is incredible, in terms of renders and animation is one of the top games too, even if it's not perfect as there are girls that could be better.
Other thing that makes this game awesome is that it's one of the few games in which time slots have value, in almost all sandbox, time slots are only annoying.
Of course, the game is not perfect and I don't like that a lot of girls interactions are forced to follow a non clearly related order, which reduces our choice control and you can think that game is to similar with a hidden kinetic novel. But this is a common sandbox issue, not only in this game

Charming, Sexy and Really Fun. The Plot is Interesting and the Paths the story takes are really fun / stimulating. Would really love to see where this goes next. Excellent renders, really charming protagonist and love the effort put into this!

I don't know why this game doesn't have 5 stars. It's the best I've played so far.

The characters are well constructed making a very interesting mix of personalities.
The renders are great. The girls are gorgeous. The sex scenes are very well done with great animation.
The story is very good, engaging, and, although it only takes place in "2 days", it is not at all repetitive.

And there is Megan.... I'm in love with her.
