Ren'Py - Completed - Lust Theory [v1.0.2] [Inceton Games]

Its a God Damn Fucking Shame. I love this game just as much as I fucking hate it. Basically the Mc is reliving the exact same day stuck in a loop like groundhogs day. I like the premise and I do enjoy Inceton previous works they have some fun titles under their belt. Graphics/renders are beautiful, the story is interesting, throughout the day you able to alter events in your favor, I do like the trial in error where your forced to think about figuring out your next event. Sadly what kills the game for me is the Fucking Pacing its too god damn fucking slow, the build up sucks just as soon as everything gets good and spicy everything comes to an erupt end. This the 5th Chapter Still no Sex not unless you count sticking the tip in right before the night ends and everything resets and you can't do anything because the quest is complete until the next fucking update, We are all fucking stuck with nudity and masturbation and now finger banging, some nude selfies and you spy on your Sis masturbating , fuck at least we got a blowjob/hand job last update but came instantly too brief to enjoy so it still feels like this is a step back. Everything Resets in this world anyway So Get to the Fucking Point 5 Chapters and Still No Sex we ain't got Jack Shit!

This review is based on episodes 1-4.

Let me address the elephant in the room: the ads are a non-issue. Disable them with the code, and be done with it. Yes, it sucks that the dev does it, but w/e, frankly with most people pirating the game I can't actually blame them. As long as there are easy enough ways to disable it, it doesn't matter to me. And it doesn't get much simpler than this.

There's definitely a lot of potential here. The renders are great, and the women feature realistic proportions, which is as rare as it is welcome. The time loop mechanic is a nice twist on the typical mother/sister/friend incest creep scenario.

The developments are actually believable, and I'm already surprised how much content you can get out of one day if you play your cards right and use insider-knowledge that you didn't have on previous days. I feel like the dev was very creative this way.

The writing is also far better than I'm used to from these games, which definitely helps with having believable characters. And maybe I have just played too many poorly translated games lately, but it's very refreshing to have a native English speaking dev (or at least one who writes as good as a native speaker).

The only two reasons I don't rate this five stars is because for one, there are a few bugs left at this point, and while they're not critical or crippling, they're more than just superficial. Given the complexities of the time loop mechanic I normally wouldn't hold that against the dev, but at times it does go against enjoying the game more than I'd like. Though to be fair, everything is usually fixed on the next replay of the day.

The other reason is that at this point (episode 4) there's simply not much content yet. There are a handful sexual scenes, though no actual intercourse yet.

Again, the game is still young, so no major drawback, but not five star worthy yet. But it certainly has the potential to get there. I'll certainly be following this game and I'll revise this review when something changes.

Let's break it down:
Story / Originality: In terms of adult games it might be the first time I've seen this particular story pop up, but overall it's just a reuse of an old concept in writing that's been not only overused in writing but also in other areas such as movies; Nothing really new.
An all too common aspect with games like these are the characters themselves who are either extreme sluts, exhibitionists or just plain """special""". An example of this would be several characters that will just offer to get naked for no apparent reason at all. Don't want to spoil too much so I'll leave it at that.

Renders: Not bad, but not really that great. If I had to describe them in one word it would be: Standard.

Sounds: Annoying, loud and repetitive.

Playability / Bugs: On a scale from 1 to 10 it's a definite negative 100.
First off, it's buggy, certain scenes where you would progress thanks to events in game, you don't. To explain this further you have to know the game bases actions on a day to day basis and there are certain events that end the day, but code wise, it still thinks you're on the same day meaning you can't perform certain actions since it thinks you've already done them.
Then there's the fact that the developer thinks key Ren'py function such as skip unread text, continuing to skip after choices or disable transitions are not important, so he removed them without any explanation at all, making your experience playing the game way more annoying (unless you use external tools to bypass this).
Not to be outdone, by the previously mentioned annoyances, this game features an additional bonus, which every player loves, ads (btw that was irony). You get ads in the middle of the game that stop your gameplay and deceivingly send you to his patreon page unless you use a code to disable them; Thankfully someone shared the code in the thread and if you're planning on playing this game I cannot urge you more to look at the OP and look for the code there.
Only positive I can think of, is there are hints to know what to do next.

Performance: No complaints here, but that's not really a positive just something you'd expected.

Animations: None? I can't remember any.

Grammar: Ok(ish), some mistakes here and there.

Amount of content: Subpar.

The first and only porn game to have ads in the game. Don't support this game unless you want other porn games to adopt this practice. As for the game, it's kind of boring and generic and the personalities aren't interesting. The renders look alright but nothing we haven't seen before. The groundhogs day plot is something new but it doesn't add to any sexiness or sex scenes and it by itself is not some super interesting story so I don't think it adds anything. None of the girls have any kind of interesting personality to make you like them, they're as generic as possible.

I think the concept of repeating day is particularly bad for a video game. Video game relies on the player feeling like they are in the game, having to repeat the same day over and over and over again is not a pleasant experience to have. Giving the option to skip things simply makes the game felt empty.

Repeating the day concept also robs the player of the sense of progression toward the story. It just feels like a lazy way to allow the player to get away without consequence to their choices.

2-star rating instead of 1-star because at least some of the characters are mildly interesting.

EDITED up to Episode 7: Dropped to 1-star (real rating is 1.5-star) because the game has now evolved into relying on Hidden Event as the majority of content of the updates because it's stuck with the awful repeating day concept.

Story: For now, it's interesting, nothing to say(Ep.1-3 are kinda short...soo i can't say enough for having an opinion about it)

Graphic: The Dark Neighborhood's artist/artists can learn a lot from this game, i love the graphic here(but it's similar to Milfy City so they can learn even from there u.u)

Bonus: Zoe and Megan are pretty much my favorite girls in this game..

ps: Sorry but the game is so short that actually i don't have a complete opinion so the short version of this review can be: For now it's good, i'm hoping for more updates(or more contents). Also the only reason that i didn't give 5stars it's exactly bc the game it's too short (for now) so...soon as the game will be bigger that problem will be fixed and i'll be happy to give the fifth star

i like the idea behind the game,the repet day, the new thinks that i can found and the changes i can make (as mc ),the models of this games are so well design and the game level push me to keep play until the end,i realy like it and i wait the next update ^_^

Previous review (was a 5/5 star) The girls are hot. The renders are awesome, the idea of the day rewinding is also very well used. The game makes sure that redundant activies can be bypassed when they have served their purpose and you always feel like what you learned in one day will be usefull next.
A few naughty scenes were just added and they are HOT. Can't wait for more, but frankly I am happy this is a slow burn and the sex scenesaren't dropping left and right.

This has great potential, story is interesting, lots of room for story development, characters are attractive and well rendered, over map needs work but it has a decent amount of locations for such early development, game mechanics for time looping is easy to understand and keeps from too much repetition, for such an early stage this is going in all the right directions.

This game had a lot of potential... it seems instead of creating new and interesting content the dev completely sold out and is just going for a cash grab... smh

story seems fine, even while it only explains the plot. characters looks good and the game is setup well (as far as the way its drawn and written) but other than that its kind of a demo so far....

episode 2 could go in a fun direction but if things keep going in the same direction.... then this is going no where and should just be a boring book.

Girls look gorgeous.
Too bad there are no sex scenes in this version. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because I can't evaluate the sex scenes
I loved the plot too.
I hope this gets quality sex scenes/animations and do not rely on a linear story
