The old saves don't work anymore but starting a new game will softlock you pretty much immediately. The first night when you are supposed to check the noise upstairs in Marge's room, you can click on the door but nothing will happen. You also can not go to sleep so you get stuck.

That's not a soft lock, you aren't meant to open the door, you're meant to check from the upstairs window in the front yard, i'll let you explore to figure out how, but hint, it's also around where you find the bike to get into town.

This is just not good enough and even starting new games, messes up with more errrrrrrrrrrrors.

Talking to Bart about getting his bong back from Milhouse seems to break saving, unsure if there's a way around it. You can explore other questlines without starting that conversation and save fine.

For me I just kept playing and periodically tried to quicksave. After a while it started working again.

So I just used URM to bypass talking to Bart about the bong by going to Milhouse in the park and selecting "Ask about the Bong" or whatever it is from the unavailable options. Doesn't seem to have interfered with any other progress in the game, and avoided the save issue.

that google file that someone posted. When you start new game it has all the other stuff done already. Only new content from latest update is left to play.
