It's never acceptable to implement DRM at the cost of the consumer experience, that is why shit like Denuvo is universally hated by everyone in gaming, because it lowers performance. Also, as you said, the cracked version you can actually play offline! that's already a massive upgrade from the paid version. Imagine having to be online to play a godamn visual novel, it's absolutely absurd and unacceptable. No paying supporter should be cool with this.

Conjecture or not, based on the dev, that is the direction the game is going. May take 2-3 years to get the answers, but I feel fairly confident. There's always the chance these initial updates get retconned, though lol.

NTS games are also set up to look like NTR very frequently. I'm not saying it's going to be NTS, but there's nothing here that confirms anything. "small bit of logic applied..." or a great deal of paranoia. I'll be blunt. I have put this in my NTR folder...because you're likely correct. But nothing in this is set in stone. I've seen games turn far quicker than this one would have to. Here's another thing...he comes out of the karaoke room after getting escorted back so he can go check the room again. He's facing down the hallway...in the direction i'm assuming he would be heading cause why would you turn down and head the wrong direction, and Aiko comes up behind him from the other direction from the opposite direction he appears to be heading. Also..."a bit disheveled..." is not even close to "exhausted" I still think you are correct, but there is nothing here that should make anyone believe this can't be NTS. Also, in the conversation in the hallway...Aiko is the one who points out that Ryou appears nervous about something like she is surprised. That conversation of her asking about Yuki makes complete sense also if she ACTUALLY saw them together last time she saw them. And Ryou saying "who..." when asked about Yuki is exactly what someone who had just been caught would say as well. The "who..." is a way of buying time to come up with a good answer when you've been caught in an embarrassing situation...you know...like fucking the extremely drunk girl who barely knows you. I again...still think you are correct, but this convo is at best leaning 60/40 NTR...at best. At this point i don't care either way, I just want to see the smokeshow get fucked by someone who isn't a shit lay. If MC busts immediately in the next update because of whatever she's about to say about Ryou...which is what i very much suspect is about to happen, im going to be frustrated. I wanna watch this girl fucking scream...and i don't give a fuck who does it.

I think the dev could take it either direction with some bad excuses and justifications, so should be interesting to find out how it goes in the future.
And yeah, also anticipating when the actual content with Aiko starts to hit. Despite the corrupt and shitty nature of the devs monitization and release schedule across multiple games, Aiko's design and artwork is hot af.

the largest thing that would point to any of this actually being a lie in my mind is...She supposedly just exited a bathroom...with a mirror...at a club without being rushed. When was the last time a woman DIDN'T fix her hair and makeup before exiting a bathroom with a mirror when she was out. Her hair would be perfect, and she'd have buffed out any traces of being sweaty from the karaoke with makeup. Everything else could literally go either way.

Denuvo depending on how its implemented can be terrible for performance, multiple games have shown this but not always consistently like it depends on the scene, but i think its more how its used VS it existing
its also the only DRM that actually works consistently for a extended period, i see games cracked 1+ years after release instead of instantly
i see it kinda like anti-cheat, ideally it only effects cheaters, but thats incredibly difficult to actually do, it tends to effect legit players.
I had a anticheat that didn't effect legit players once, it was a third party tool, it used client side exploits the game later patched since it could be used to try and get accounts banned, but it had 0 impact on players without hacks, it only ran once because it didnt need a player to be hacking, just have hacks installed.
but even that system was easily bypassed if you knew how it worked, but it required changing some default settings of the cheating software which cleared out the majority of hackers, we did have someone figure it out, but they had my blessing to pen test it, and only found out because he started testing it with a bunch of different hacks/mods till one acted differently because it couldn't run the check and had a error that showed how it worked

Welp, you are one of the few. He will be returning to developing IWH and there is no say when he will return to this. Imo, hopefully not for a long time. This does not seem to be very well received, seeing as how fast he returned to IWH after only 2 updates.
