ImpactXPlay Before I build a bug list or start on a PDF walkthrough, I've been pouring through every script file, correcting minor typos, adjusting spelling and grammar, and fixing the occasional error. I'm glad there is no "Engrish."
I kept all the characters' styles of speaking, meaning Beatrix and Dr. Stapleneck continue to use the best English, Miss Dawson still sounds like a Southern Belle (I don't know if she is a Southern Belle, but that's how she sounds in my head with some of her dialogue), and the MC's English is less refined. My point is that I am not changing things on a huge scale. Your work is still your work.
Wherever I found instances of
Jimmy, I replaced it with
[player_name]. Thus far, I've found one case where the wrong person was talking (Miss Punny was talking with Fiona's name), and one case of
[roommate_female] which should be
[roommate_male].
After several hours' work, I am about halfway through the scripts. Once a first pass is completed, I'll load the game and test. If everything is working as intended, I will zip up the
/scripts/ folder and upload it here as an attachment. It will be compatible with version 0.5.0b but possibly not with the Portuguese, Italian, or Spanish translations found on the front page. I have no way to test those.
What I have not been able to fix because I think the file is missing, is the missing
townhousehallwaynight error. I can't find the file in the folders. I found similar files, but I don't know which one to use. That error is on line 18 of
\game\scripts\dialogue\blair\blairdrunkscene.rpy. If I can find Officer Jillian's missing bio image, I'll fix that, but I haven't got to those script files yet to check.
You are welcome to download the zip and compare the files to your work; if you use a repository system like Git, SVN, or Hg, you can easily create .diff files to see what I did. The zip will be posted later in its own post with instructions for users.
