RPGM - Completed - Magical Girl Celesphonia [v1.07] [Shimobashira Workshop/Kagura Games]

This is by far the best Shimobashira Workshop game. The art is simply great. The scene activities are abundant and diverse. The corruption has the perfect pace, and the protagonist is actually interesting. The vast majority of scenes are not induced by failure. This is one of the best, if not the best, RPGM H-games.

    • good art
art is well drawn and composed
    • varied content
lots of different situations and fetishes explored, wide net for potential players
    • good paced progression
never significantly dragged nor rushed. side content and objectives easy to find to space out main content if desired.
    • endgame content worth doing
not often you find challenging content past the credit roll

I actually wasn't expecting this level of immersion. I usually don't like RPGM except Melty but the little life sim touches are really nice! Love it more than melty. For sure one of the more immersive in this genre with persona vibes. 4.789/5 for sure worth!

    Eldar

Currently the best H-game around. The author did a phenomenal job with it and it surpasses all of his other already exceptional titles. It is the perfect marriage between story, gameplay and H-elements. A new one is already on the horizon, set to release in 2025.

Good storytelling, variety of content. Total game time on normal diff is about 15 hours. Simple battle system makes gameplay simple. Art is good, code is optimized, not a single bug for 20 hours. Recommend for 100% completion

Game balance is wonky, too easy on normal difficulty to avoid pretty much most of the monster rape stuff. Just grind a bit to stay high level and invest in upgrading combat engrams, and the reconnaissance ones for traps later on. The game is trying to copy Persona's style of dungeons but there's nothing preventing you from speed running them one after another. At least in the Persona games you're forced to wait the whole month before the next, which is good because there's plenty of extra story content to do. But here you can really only repeat the same sex scenes over and over to level up your lewd level.

Fun rpg, gets a little repetitive but not too bad. You can pick you're own items and skills - skill tree is confusing at first but you get used to it. There is grinding if you want maxed items or skills but they are well worth it

Was an improvement from ambrosia in some mechanics and also loved modern setting and skill tree system, there are many events than ambrosia and also many jobs to do so you will be busy for long ,has also a lot of freedom, thanks shimobira for creating and kagura for translation, now onward to Enishia

Great game all around, loads of content and enjoyable art to unlock. managed to 100% and played around with all the features I could find. I don't have anything really to add then that this is one of those really fantastic RPGM games which just are great and I end up coming back to all the way until the finish. Highly recommend for rpgm fans who are looking for a little bit of an interesting story

Absolute legend of a game. Replayable to infinity, everything is great. I wish they made a dlc or a sequel. Also wished they stopped with the tiny window for cg but other than that 5/5.
One of the best games ever made.

hands down the best hrpg ive played to date, so much replayability due to the sheer amount of content with an actual corruption system and great art. the developer keeps getting better with each game.

    Shimobashira has done it again

    10/10
Ambrosia fans, please rejoice, this has all the same and MORE

Costume designs ahve gotten even more interesting, and the plot is a lot smoother for this one.

Slight grind is an issue with these games, but the abundance of scenes, themes and fun is definitely gonna keep you going .

Too bad I feel a little bad about corrupting cute ol celosphonoia, probably means its done pretty well

    Reviewing 1.04

Most others have already fairly extensively covered this games good points so I'll mainly focus on things I felt could have been improved.
    1. It can be fairly difficult figuring out what you have to do to unlock a new scene or area. For instance, to get the webcam to stream you need to let an enemy grope you until until they release you but that's not explained at all, so a lot of people probably missed out entirely on streaming.
    2. Some scenarios feel under-developed. In this I'm mainly referring to Amane's friend, Hazuki. Hazuki has several scenes in the game but has very little dialogue and shares no scenes with Amane, despite being best friends and the whole reason Amane becomes Celesphonia in the first place. What's more baffling is that she has scenes for a lot of the same things Amane has; prostitution? Amane and Hazuki have scenes but none together, even though Amane can catch Hazuki downtown and suspects that she's doing it. Hazuki can catch Amane having an orgy with the swim team and then also has a scene with the swim team but again none together. Two playboys can approach them at the beach for some fun and while Amane may have gone with them before and both her and Hazuki know what they're after, they don't go. It just feels like a missed opportunity.
    3. The grind for certain things can be a bit rough, there are tons of materials in the game and a lot of things to unlock, with no real guide on where to get what (One late game item I wanted needed Resistones which only appeared in the first dungeon) enemies are also quite tough if you're unprepared and miamsa cores in the dungeons make them tougher still. Fighting can be quite a slog at times.
Despite this, I still found the game a lot of fun. I think it sets a high bar in terms of quality for H games, it reminds me in a way of Kozue's Strange Journey (A game that was posted here but has since been removed) but with a more realized vision. It's definitely a game I would recommend.

These RPG Maker games are usually really hit or miss for me and this one was definitely a hit. I liked the progression in the game and while you don't have to, the grinding is really easy to do. The issues I had with the game were one, that there wasn't enough really different outfits for the protagonist, a lot of them were the same but just slightly different (there are 4 versions of the main uniform just slightly different for example). Two the scenes are not animated, this one is more of a personal thing I think. Other than that the game is really solid and I enjoyed the time I spent on it.

Others have already said what it is so I won't repeat it all. I agree that it's a great immersive corruption game where you feel the impact of every lewd attack. It lasts and has reply value. I recommend purchasing this game.

Last words: Get the mod for even more of a challenge and more cursed corruption

One of my favorite RPGs ever.

    Pursuit of H-Scenes/Lust mechanic
: Easily this game's biggest strength. Finding scenes (which are plentiful) and seeing the degredation of the MC and those around her is what gives this game its popularity. Most scenes start as rape, but as you level up the Lust mechanic, the MC starts going out on her own. Not original, but definitely the best execution of corruption that I have scene. I'd explain more but playing the game is the best way to understand how well it's done.

    Gameplay:
Standard RPG battling but doesn't feel boring. Skill progression is quick and you choose what to build with decent amount of options. There are no annoying side quests, but hunting for some of the dropped items was annoying (fixed by using Drop rate+ item which I forgot about). Maps are not annoying to traverse through and have teleports/refresh. Some grinding neccesary to unlock strongest equipment, but thats only neccesary for extra content. My first run was a virgin run till the extra ending + hidden final boss and still had fun all the way through. There is a day/night mechanic which is only really for H-Scenes.

    H-Scenes:
From an unbiased perspective, this game's biggest weakness, but still great. The scenes are static and a few are copy pasted with different backgrounds. However, the art in it of itself is not low quality and along with the context, is quite good overall. Theres quantity and variety, mostly focused on human, with a little bit of tentacle and monster.

TL:DR: One of the best RPG's ever made and a top-notch corruption mechanic. H-Scenes are a bit dissapointing due to being static but still brings decent quantity and quality. If you liked Treasure Hunter Claire or Brave Alchemist Colette, this game is shorter but with more enjoyable gameplay.

    Samejima.

In short, a brutal version of Sailor moon.

Dirty and disgusting as far as it can be said about the H game. The sex scenes turned out to be quite disgusting and repulsive, so much so that
I did not want to view them all.:sick:Atmosphere what worked in ambrosia doesn't work at all here.Every time it looks like girl become a victim of some sadists. And inner you don't want to let her through this..And this is at least minus most of the fun of the H game.

Amane is not as charismatic as Flode, she feels off like more empty.
The map has become more incomprehensible and confusing,
as well as the 95% locations themselves are a solid dull gray urbanism - in which not fun to lost every time.o_O

One of the new fun advantages is the ability to oneshot enemies from behind.
    And not bad ost.

Compared to the magnificent Ambrosia, it is 2 steps back or even 3.
If the first game leaves pleasant warm memories and melancholy for the end of the long great adventure.:coffee::giggle:
Ending here - only brings up closer to end this horror as quickly as possible and never to remember this again.(n):cautious:

Not only is this game tremendously better than I thought it would be, but it's also kinda long! Many sex scenes which I havent come close to finding them all, fun combat that isnt really grindy, cool events and what ifs, and a soundtrack that shouldnt be as good as it is.

While I will rate it 5/5, I do wish there was a bit more variety in the voice effects during scenes, and a bit more than still images. Even so, there are a great many scenes.

Almost forgot to mention, but this game actually can be played with only one hand (the mouse can control everything)

One of the better games published by Kagura Games, it's your standard RPG game with good QOL features. Mechanic wise, it's standard, just level up your character and progress through the different enemies. Of course this is connected to the scenes you can see as well, lose to each unique enemy and get a different H scene.

This brings me to the seggs itself, you visit a unique area of the map that'll give you special NPCs or places to get to your scenes. Artwork looks nice, although somewhat varied by the end of your gameplay you'll realize a lot of the same poses and positions are used and it may get a bit repetitive. Overall pretty good.

I feel that Ambrosia is better than Celesphonia gameplay-wise.
    Sex-wise about the same.

Dev slacked a bit, didn't consider combat mechanics very thoroughly since you can do stuff like running away from combat, placing her behind the enemy you just ran away from, waiting momentarily til that enemy is combat ready again, and then one-shotting them easily. :ROFLMAO::coffee:
Also didn't need to deal with slightly-annoying domination mechanics in Ambrosia on highest difficulty, not a big deal but still a bit of a chore. Also when she transforms she can only wear one costume, and that is boring.

There are other gripes i have with Celesphonia as well.
I was even bored near the end, that never happened when i played Ambrosia.:coffee:
So yeah, Ambrosia in my opinion is definitely better than Celesphonia all-around. Story included.:coffee:

    Btw a helpful Engram tip:
    Bonuses from Engrams do stack.
So if, for example, you have 'Soul Purification I' and 'Soul Purification II' from 'Healing Engram II' and 'Healing Engram III' you will get a massive amount of bonus souls from stacking these. Same applies to combat bonuses like +% mag or +% attack and others.
However, the same passives will not stack even if you're getting them from different Engrams.
For example Soul Purification I that comes from healing Engram I and II will not stack because it's basically the same skill.

    Have fun~
