VN - Ren'Py - Maids and Maidens [v0.12.0] [Raybae Games]

Review for version 0.6.1

Maids and Maidens doesn't really do anything new or outlandish, especially compared to a lot of other games here, but I'd say that isn't a bad thing in this case.

The protagonist doesn't really stand out among any other. Standard nice guy, has a sad back story, with the choice to be a dick in some dialogue options. Animations are done well enough (have certainly seen worse) and I've liked most of the models used, though I think you could make a case for some of them being rather plain. It's pretty linear as well, as I don't think any choices change much besides missing/acquiring a love point or skipping a scene. Some love interests have a corruption route you could take also.

Despite all that, I found myself enjoying the game the more I played it. There are a lot of love interests that get introduced throughout the whole game, but it never felt exhausting or overwhelming. I actually really like the stories that are developing for some of the characters. The maid and her sister are a great example of that, probably my favorite of the game. There is also a more in-depth main plot than I first realized that gets slowly revealed as the game goes on. It's enough to keep me interested and invested, and it's being told well. I found myself wanting more after I got to the end anyway.

If you're someone who's maybe looking for a game to fill the void while waiting for your favorites to get updated, this game does the job, and I don't mean that as an insult to the game. It's more simple in the grand scheme of things, but it almost makes it a more enjoyable and relaxing experience because of that.

And who knows, maybe the plot will continue to get more complicated and surprise me? I can easily see myself changing this to 5 stars as this gets developed.

It's a good game, but it's probably the wrong side of busy to be a great game.

You're a MC with a mysterious past it seems and you're working at a company and there's a takeover thing going on and some blackmail plot or something, and a mysterious building that keeps popping up, and a court case, and I mean by the end of it I was just left thinking the game would be twice as good if it had half the cast.

I suspect you could make choices so that you didn't interact with some of the people but 1) I am assuming that would make the game feel even shorter and 2) there are plot lines which seem to involve a lot of characters so even if you weren't trying to have sex with them, they'd still pop up.

The graphics are good and really overall it's a not bad game it's just...... it feels like the developer just wants everything in there.

The game seems to have a setup where you're sitting at your tv and there's a knock at the door and that's really how the plot progresses most of the time but once or twice I was left trying to remember WHO this person was. Was it the neighbour, the CEO of the other company, your secretary, your other secretary? Oh no, never mind, it's the pregnant one. It's Carol, ok what's up?

The real kicker, I've played games like this before, and it's not the worst thing in the world. Sure I'd rather have more depth than breadth when it comes to characters but hey, if they play a part then that's fair enough. The thing which probably took a star off the game was I think I was near the end of 0.5, might have been 0.6 and there's a bit reveal about how you supposedly raped someone, or tried to and I was left thinking "oh god this is gonna get grim and serious" (which is basically the death blow for soooo many games) but also "oh god, another new character"

The girls are fun as they are, but there's just too many and each have their own little unique plot line so it feels everything's a mystery when really it shouldn't be. Expand on the pregnant girls plot line or go focus on the lesbian who's totally going to invite you to shag her bi girlfriend, don't keep giving a little content for each girl cause no one will get anywhere and people will get frustrated and moan and then the dev will decide it's too much hassle trying to appease everyone and the game gets abandoned.

Great game, good pacing. You don't have to wait hours before someone lets you rub their shoulder .
MC can either be Good, Bad or a bit of both.
Some pregnancy stuff with milk play if you into that but its optional. Haven't finished 0.6.1 yet but so far I like it.

This game might turn into my fav in no time!

The renders contain a lot of blur and are a bit oversaturated for my personal taste, but the incredible "jiggly physics" compensate it by a thousand times!
I had to.. reassure several times, that all of the genitalia are actually moving on their very own, with artificial mass, gravity.

I have never seen this feature on a Ren'Py / Honey Select game until now (I might be wrong about this, ofc).

The story is ok-ish, I found it to be better than the average.

I primarily recommend this game at its current state because of the jiggly physics, which raise the lewd scenes to a whole new level.

The story is interesting and the storyline has good branching out I suppose as half the gallery is locked. I'm compelled to do a quick replay.
The sex scenes are good, there is good intimacy, not like some other games where there is only penetration (or only zooming the girls face to make them seem like they kissed). And the text length is PERFECT, there is no super unnecessary long internal monologue, or speaking to a guy for a prolonged time. The visuals are decent, being a based of HoneySelect games, the characters don't look borderline Asian, the skin colors usually look correct. There are many animated scenes, not on the in the sex scenes but in some casual scenes too. There are some good and asshole MC paths, and MCs character is reflected on later in the story so I think those decisions will matter to a good degree. Not menial to read and good to jerk off.

Great game so far. It really is a VN the MC has intresting choice to make, he can turn in being a nice guy or a bit more manipulative. The lewd part is good as well. Pretty mild and nothing to extreme so far but the athmosphere and characters are great!

As of .5 of the game. The game has progressed decently in the story. But there is an obvious political bias in the story that just kills the immersion. Decisions sometimes feels forced and makes you go, why would I even want to do that?

Some of the girls are really nice, though.

It has the making of being a stellar game, I'll say that right off the bat.

The story is the kind that gains momentum and only expands in both complexity and drama. And it's compelling! It's not overdramatic, doesn't overplay its hand and always remembers that it's also a porn game. It's not an easy balance but so far it succeeds.

As for the characters, they're varied and has depth and their own motivations - a must for any self-respecting game. I found the MC to be a bit... Odd? Sometimes he comes across as bland, especially with how he interacts with others. There's little humor or charm even. But still it just works.

There's a strong presence of white knighting, but it never comes off as incel-y. MC can do some proper domination techniques which creates interesting dynamics. And since it's a harem game, everything is geared towards acquiring more and more feminine characters.

The sex scenes are all alright. Many are animated but it's not the best animation I've seen. What makes the game worth a 5-star is the combination of good story, intersting characters and the dynamics you have! I'll be coming back to this game in the future.

For an 0.5 there's a lot of content and story, but don't worry there's also plenty of lewd scenes incl. penetration scenes, I think the game has a nice mix of lewdness and story.

I personally decided to be a good guy throughout the game, with the exception of Yumi, since the game made it so hard to treat any of the other girls poorly, according to the dev realistic portrayals of women include them getting f'd over in life countless times. And yeah I'm sure these stories happen in real life and life isn't all milk & honey, but not every single woman on the Earth has a miserable life. I guess only Tifanny's life could be considered in pristine condition, but then again considering who she's related to, my inklings and the way the dev made the story ; has me doubting that perfect first look.

The game ends on a very interesting note (cliffhanger ofc), but I think we can overcome the upcoming challenge.

Others have said it, already - the game is great. Nice, polished, the characters are interesting and real, there are plenty of animations and it's probably the best looking HS based game I've seen on this site.

It's a straight VN, CYOA-style. Kind of linear and as far as I can tell the choises are more based on will you pursue a specific girl or variety of interactions. You can be quite the dickhead. Or a knight in shining armor. Take your pick and download and play this game. There are hours of content and they are great!

I give it 7 stars really. The stories in this VN game are brilliantly crafted, grounded on reality. Have a lot of contents (stories) even in its infancy stage. Plenty of sexual contents with multiple LIs and there are perfectly valid reasons why some LIs did not have sexual contents yet. There are plenty of characters/LIs, each with their own unique interesting stories. Play as the nice guy, corruptor or a litle bit of both. Few choices have major consequences and almost all the choices changes some dialogues and scenes, encouraging players to explore all to get the full experience. My first playthrough on the Romance/Love path in a single sitting took about 6 to 8 hours. Although I am not a fan of lactation but I am loving it how lactation was included in this game. Underrated. Good renders and models, animations are great too. But most important stuff is the plot/storyline, it's gripping not that unique but well organized to say the least. Liked the romance angle. When i read the tag/preview for the first time i thought this'll be one of those slave type shit but delighted to be wrong.

This is the only game where lactation is a core theme without oversized tits, plus the girl does it reluctantly too. What more can you ask? The only thing that can improve the game is more beautiful cows. Let us milk them all, dev.

This game was a big surprise, to be such a new game it has a lot going for it. The story is interesting, with a array of characters and it keeps you interested to see what comes next. Highly recommend to give it a try.

Wrote this review because this game is criminally underrated; there are other games with much lower quality that have thousands more views, hope this changes in the future. Nice game with good renders, solid animations, and intelligent characters. There's plenty of content already too, and you can play as a good guy, villain, or somewhere in-between. I encourage people to give it a shot.
