Main caracter (male) has insight/skill/power/other that other caracters don't. This makes him play life on god mode.
An answer to my question could be games that feature a "what if" scenario. What if I knew the future of my life? What if I was the only one to have magical glasses that allow me to see people naked? What if I had a phone app that allows me to change my body at will? What if I had a magical companion in a normal everyday reality?
Could be a reverse of the setup: mundane character surrounded with a magical/technological world, slowly learning how it works.
The most interesting part of this for me is probably the trope of going back in time to your teenage years to make all your choices again.
Alternatively, player has such an insight, which allows to control the main protagonist in a way that seem impossibly lucky or impossible to other characters in the game.
Games that fit my query that come to my mind at the time of writing:
- Horizon: Zero Dawn. Not a porn game. Main character has access to scanning technology (witcher senses) in a post-apo tribal world, where the remanants of the advanced civilization are worshipped. This is part of the main plot of the game.
- Twitsed Memories. After living a life of failure and addiction, hated and abandoned by his friends and family, the main protagonist gets transported back in time to his teenage days to get a second chance to change his life. His power in this case would be his knowledge, skills of an adult trapped in a boy's body + his knowledge of what will happen in the future of his life. This makes for a very interesting setup, because going back in time allows him to slowly understand what led him to become such a person.
- Last Man. The main protagonist is the only man on earth.
Close/maybe:
- The headmaster.
- WaifuAcademy.
