I've been pretty blackpilled on free speech and artistic freedom recently. Everything gets censored despite literally millions of users not wanting it and complaining about it, and companies losing significant percentages of profits and also not wanting it.

All it takes is a dozen blue-haired-feminists/bible-thumping-nutjobs to complain in a letter with less than a hundred signatures and entire governments or multi-billion multinational companies cave in. Probably because they want the same and are using this shit as a smokescreen.

I'll try to sign it, but I don't see what a billion voices can achieve against a single nutjob with a psychotic ideology. The past week has been a hell of a ride.

i just want to point out that's exactly how i see the world
if people with enough power/money share an opinion/ideology they will force it on others

and silence/ban or even kill anyone who opposes them
you can protest and phone bomb them all you want
losing money will not stop them if they want to create their new world order

Groups like PayPal have been waging a war against pornography for about two decades already. They have never allowed pornographic media to be paid over their systems; except for the interrim period where Steam allowed porn to be sold without letting Paypal know, and what we're seeing now is probably a compromise between these two giants - the monopolist in internet payment systems, and the monopolist in videogame online sales.

Search for the term "Paypal Mafia", it's people like Peter Thiel (and now his apprentice JD Vance) fostering right-wing extremism and all kinds of anti-freedom and anti-democracy measures worldwide. Just like for example Zuckerberg/Facebook has been playing deputy in the battle against "morally impure" elements of the society, and has been performing a specifically pivotal role already in the Brexit and the Trump election back in 2015-16, ten years ago.

Why they're doing this is relatively easy to understand. All division of the society, where people argue against each other in irreconcilable opposition, that's where their money rolls in. Because every time you post a comment on a contraversial topic, it triggers a thousand other clicks and comments by people who are either agree or disagree with you. Means that the more toxic and lie-infested a debate, the more money for them. Fear, hate, conspiracy theories are their primary business. It's just how their algorithms work, as abundantly explained to the public by former employees of Facebook & co.

Just like other digital and now AI systems, for example the surveillance programs like Palantir. If your company can offer such an Orwellian product, you need a paranoid population and an authoritarian government who are okay with putting up facial recognition cameras on every street corner. That's why you get bombarded by horror news on social media about criminals, immigrants and child molesters overrunning your city, and you believe it even when a simple look outside your window can prove that it isn't true.



So when these guys talk about "freedom", they don't mean your freedom to enjoy your porn kinks in privacy and secrecy at home. They mean their own privileges to earn as many billions as they can, to not pay taxes at the expense of the society, and to do whatever they want in complete disregard to the law.

See the Epstein case and how just about everyone including Trump seem to be involved. Similar to how a large part of the entertainment industry seemed to be involved in the "Puff Daddy" case, despite Sean Combs having openly acted as a pimp and drug dealer as part of his public image for decades. These rich and powerful people live in their own paradise capsule, and the only thing that can still harm them are the remains of a working democracy.

And these remains of democracy are not being dismantled by some LGBT or Feminist activists, but by the very US administration which has also shut down any forms of climate change research, education, aid programs and whatnot.

Musk is also PayPal mafia. I was wondering how Vance became a young VP. With the Thiel connection, I guess that's its own axis power right there. I still think the purge was about things feminists don't like, and who would listen to these ideas and even let them be popularized to this extent?

Also, when I read these petitions, you get the sense that some of it really is astroturfed or corrupted by bots, no? Like why do the top comments have to mention I have autism or I am LGBT+? This is across other similar petitions as well. Is that something the petition readers well respond to?
