Unity - Completed - Making Movies [v0.9.15] [Droid Productions]

The (first?) game of Droid-productions, the creators who gave us Love of Magic. I played it out of curiosity because I loved some of their other games. Is a short, complete sandbox game with honey-select assets about a porno-producer. You seduce the main heroine into a life of vice and porn.
The sandbox elements mostly consist of you grinding up your skills to unlock scenes (it's pretty obvious the creators built on the sandbox-elements for Love of Magic - here they are lacking in comparison)
The game is pretty short - maybe 3-4 scenes with the main heroine and a handful one-offs with side girls. Game is extremely linear, your choices don't really matter.
Mostly a corruption game with some exhibitionism.
It's a decent first game that actually got completed rather than abandoned but the creator’s later games are a lot better. If you are bored or curious you might give it a try but take it as it is and don't expect too much.

I enjoy management games and given how absolutely mind-blowingly good the storytelling and immersion of the developer's following game (Love of Magic) is, I decided to give it a go. Personally, I prefer photorealistic 3d models, but nonetheless gameplay and story is foremost for me.

This game is quite short, and feels like it was originally meant for much more. Some elements seem to do nothing, and it feels like there was a lot of setup to expand further. Within that, the biggest disappointment for me is that all the porn movies you create are storied events. While there is nothing wrong with those events in themselves, I would have expected to be able to manage my porn studio with more options; cast girls, update equipment/studio etc. These "non-story" porn movies didn't necessarily have to come with scenes, even. That aspect seems underdeveloped, and again feels like there were plans for more originally.

However, feelings that the original intent was never followed through, the game is indeed good and enjoyable as it is now. There's nothing overly exciting about the story, but equally, it's not mundane or the usual college/landlady stuff. If it were a book, I'd liken it to something casual and relaxed that you may enjoy reading on a single train journey.

In short, a decent and brief management game with simple gameplay elements. The story is decent, but not extraordinary. Grind is basically nonexistent, despite perhaps it being expected it a game like this.

Overall an enjoyable experience.

This game is buggy as hell. Twice the game wouldn't trigger the next scene event for me (the first with Chloe's movie and the second with the threesome), I spent days going back and forth the locations and nothing. I had to close the game and open again. Often times the menus stopped working. Once I got stuck inside the university right after the movie in the library. And after the date in the gym, Pam never showed up at the gym again, I had to manually add her variable through the debug menu so I could proceed with the last event of the game.

The scene animations weren't top tier but I don't really mind this. What was a bit weird, though, were the idle animations. Mia's face would become distorted sometimes when her sprite was doing a (what I believe was) idle breathing animation.

Besides the bugs, it was a nice story. I liked the romance between MC and Mia. It's nice that even though the story is about a guy making porn with the women, there was romance in the story. And the game didn't brought up other men to the filming, which was a big plus to me.


All in all, it's a story that shouldn't be taken seriously. Go with that in mind and you'll enjoy.

Excellent game, a bit grindy in parts but not overmuch. The models and the like were beautiful, and the story melded humor, sex, and tension to great effect. That, and the ending really puts you on edge.

I don't mind HoneySelect models at all (I tend to think of HoneySelect as its own country so of course the girls look like they're all from the same place XD)
This game was a great idea and could've been a lot more. I really wished there was more story to explore, and totally enjoyed that it became a 'waifu simulator' at some point. The characters were entertaining, and I'm looking forward to playing Love of Magic now.

I had a good time, laughed a lot when the doctor was here and for me the sex scene were nice and well made.

I loved the caring side of the MC and THE DOG! The dog make that every thing in this game was pleasant.

Great game, not very long but worth to play like you are watching a feel good movie with a nice and fun actor and a good end.

I thought it was a really good short game with some great humor. The graphics are not that great but it was still enjoyable to an extent.

Favorite character is the dog. Favorite scene is every scene with the dog. Also the scene where you are for some reason paying 300 dollars in 1 dollar bills ransom for your dog... is the best scene in the game!

I would say the biggest thing that bothered me about this game though if you put aside the graphics not being that great or the scenes is that at the beginning of the game you have no idea the words to the right of the screen are options. There really is no indication that they are options. I only found out because I was randomly clicking the screen!

Another thing that I would say was a problem with this game is the rewind button. I feel like its pointless to have it rewind all the way to the beginning of a conversation with a character and should have followed the same idea with the back button in ren'py or there should just not be a rewind button at all. It felt really annoying to go back to the beginning of the scene using the rewind button (since it was available) rather then going back one thing of text.

(I only mentioned the thing about the rewind button because this was made in unity and I feel like the rewind button and how the options are not very visible or clear is due to being a bit lazy with the coding. Unity has a huge variety of options and you shouldn't be missing these small things. Especially the unclear options as playability is probably one of the biggest things that make players want to play peoples games.)

This is the best indie porn game I've ever played and it kills me that I have to dock a whole star because it ACTUALLY ENDED.

So well executed and well written was this game that it actually reaching completion enraged me. This dude could have farmed paywall panhandler bucks to the tune of thousands of dollars a month if he'd made this yet another indefinite harem, but he didn't. He actualized a vision over just about a year and walked away.

I am being completely sincere when I say that this is the kind of artistry all porn makers should aspire to and it genuinely aches to dock a star because I can't have more of it. Like being told to go to bed in the middle of playing with their favorite toy, I lash out like a goddamn child.

Making Movies was fantastic and you should take the time to play it. I promise you won't regret it, but you will regret the words "content complete."

A lot of efforts was put into this game and it deserves recognition. The concept is killer, and although its execution is not always on par, it's acceptable.

Pros: - Idle animations!
- Sexy scenes, with good buildup.
- Some dialogues are very well written.
- Some dating sim aspects
- Lots of details (comments under the videos).

Cons: - No customization. The scenes are decided by the game, then you have to put the tags that correspond to the videos before uploading. We should be responsible of both; decide the pornstar's clothes, haircut, makeup and what we do with the scenes, with success based on tag popularity and other elements.
- The dog is a literal cheat code. He finds 50€ under the sofas every 3 times you talk to him, even when you're outside with him.
- There are times you'll roam aimlessly if you don't have a walkthrough, because there are dialogues you must repeat several times to trigger a quest. With no indications these dialogues have anything special.
- You'll read books... But they don't give direct clear benefits, you don't even know why you lost your time with them. You'd also hope increasing your stats, like strength, would give you more money when you do your job as a sport coach.
- You'll have 0 interactions with most of the NPC until their quests follow-up miraculously trigger. There's even a option to "talk to students" which does literally nothing.
- Some still images are weirdly cropped.

In conclusion, this game has the potential to be one of the best on here. The dev' worked hard to make this game. However, I still consider the final product to be some kind of premise. As is, it still needs lots of work, which I hope will happen, even given the "Completed" status of this game.

Edit: After finishing the game, I must remove one star from the 4 I put originally. The game ends too soon, we don't have time to build an empire, since we get 1 pornstar, then three girls to shoot once. No real social upgrades, no customization, not much content. A shame, given the game's potential.

Cool game with an original touch to the story, but the game is buggy and even though it's tagged as complete, I wouldn't really say so considering the many comments about getting stuck in the game from people.

I experienced a lot of times, where the stats would disappear and only reappear if you reload the game.

Also several times I ended up stuck in the game just boosting my stats until something might happen, which never did.

Inviting all the girls to the wedding and then suddenly nothing happened anymore.
