POST'S REBUILD IN PROGRESS
EARLIER PART OF THIS POST (some NTR theory):
My general suggestions:
- Fix the current game so it will be just bug free. Then announce working on revamped version (2.0, DLC, whatever), which will not be save-compatible. Enter public beta or early access mode. Like in Baldurs Gate 3 by Larian, have players be testers.
- Since both main story and girl's stories are flawed both story-wise and code-wise, just drop it. Keep the assets, but resume work based on free-mode. Really, made this part from scratch. Do not fix it, it is a burden for game's improvement in core elements.
- Do code cleanup and refactoring. Especially clear it from demo code, from story-mode code, from bugfix/repair code.
- Focus on fixing and improving core game elements (specifics below). Results you wanted to achieve with story mode, achieve with gameplay elements first. The game will have a lot of unavoidable NTR for now and some people will complain. Explain them, that both story elements and pure route MUST be at the end of game development. The pure route mode will be made on top of already working NTR mode by adjusting or disabling some parameters.
- Invite community to contribute: mods (code), ideas, maps, testing, feedback.
- During the process make new generic assets, so more girls will have scenes with more monsters and more adversaries. Have some generic assets for both you and modders. Generic means the scene will fit a girl with any male. Share unused assets like Elf scene in dungeon from around 2021.
- After having the game ready, add a story (if still needed, it may be not needed) and prepare pure route.
a) Introduce a general increase in difficulty across various aspects of the game, such as limited or no field repairs, reduced gold availability, tougher enemies, etc. Since ccmod already supports a wide range of configurable parameters, playtesters could experiment to find the most balanced settings. These settings could then be recommended as standardized difficulty presets within the mod.
b) INN mechanic improvement:
- Female mercenaries are now always stationed in the barn. As such, the mechanic that causes the player to lose gold for staying in the barn will no longer apply. These characters are immovable and serve as a last-resort sexual outlet for male characters.
- Female side characters (and female mercenaries with a Heat value ≥ X) may attempt to seduce the main character (MC). If the MC has low Heat, the player can choose to refuse. However, if the MC's Heat is ≥ 100, MC will be seduced automatically. Being seduced increases the MC’s “technique” stat (a benefit), but results in a loss of affection from other girls. The specifics of this affection loss are still to be determined—possibilities include: a flat affection reduction for all girls, only affecting girls with affection above a certain threshold, affecting only a fiancée or wife.
- "shields" shall protect from full-con sex only and there shall be more situations, where shields will not help. We have a few such mechanics already (
Blue, mobs, love hotel, scripted NTR), I suggest adding alcohol intoxication as another source of dubiously consensual encounters where shields offer no protection.
- More events could be added (more seduction phases), along with the ability to reverse the seduction state by investing time or resources into a girl. Each girl will function as a sort of "frontline," requiring ongoing attention and effort from the player.
c) impregnation improvement:
- similar to CCMod, any additional pouring contributes to a normal pregnancy
- however, after marriage, a wife's special child will be born. Each male's pour in her history shapes the characteristics of their son, who will have an NG+ trait. It is TBD how. NG+ is useless anyway, since MC is too powerful already. But starting a new game with character inheriting from the last gameplay? That would be superb! Ofc the first thing I think of is penis size LOL. The son will have father's one (within limitations, because it is technically doable now to have penis 70cm long if playing NG+ and drinking Men's Medicine). The rest of this mechanic is TBD.
An example: MC poured 10 times, Blue 3 times and a mob 1 time. There is a RND for 14 with results 1-10 MC's child, 11-13 Blue's one, 14 a darkspawn.
An example: There are some special traits and flavors enabled if there were enough (percentage!) mob creampies, like default "bad" affinity, or some lesser magic inherited. If tentacle creampied mother in previous gameplay, MC's penis will have flavor text about strange schlong appearance. Or a wife having sex with such tentacle-bred MC will be more prone to give herself to tentacle monster.
Each NG+ attempt shall make a new roll.
d) the dev could re-introduce cut elements
e) variable sex events, not easy to foresee even after completing the game once. Examples:
- A kidnapping event involving a girl (possibly by WildBull?), triggered randomly or based on other factors.
- Another party operating in the same location, who might succeed in their mission before the MC's party does (this could involve a quick sexual encounter instead of a kidnapping).
- A rival party attacking the MC's group as they are leaving a dungeon, when the MC's party is weakened.
- The MC's party is defeated by mobs, but someone rescues them at a cost, avoiding a game over.
- Hot Springs might lead to sexual encounters under certain conditions; Hot Springs needed to fully recover a party from a fatigue. So the lowest fatigue level will rise with each sleep by x. Only Hot Springs will reset it to zero. The party fill be forced to visit HS and face the challenges!
- love hotel never nerfed (currently LH becomes a common inn after it's events); the main inn may be in renovation; every town having love hotel.
f) barrels having RNG effects and/or all of them having hidden effect.
g) chest opening overhaul, example of procuring failures:
- A thief always requires assistance, but assisting characters may fail.
- The maximum success rate is reduced to, for example, 95%.
- A secondary trap that always activates, with lighter effects.
- Each chest has a second compartment with an extra reward, but it comes with a guaranteed side effect. The player can choose whether to attempt it.
Secondary effects' examples: Heat +5 for one character, Fatigue +5 for one character, stolen panties.
