Yeah I know but at that point I'm like why am I even doing story mode? Then I proceed to just play in free mode

No but seriously, with the mods there's really no reason to play story mode anymore except to go through it once since there are dialog and progression differences between the two (Like when you first go to Polaris temple, Murmur has no idea who you are in free mode). Do What You Want H mod was originally made for story mode as it had no Inn interactivity in free mode but that was later changed as they started to incorporate parts of Free Ero mod into it's mod. And now, even that mod is best to just play on free mode so that you don't have to lug Max and Linus around everywhere.

I mean I do wish Max, Linus, Blue, and Wild Bull you can sneak and see their scenes and not just be a black screen
