I can really only imagine how nonfunctional the game was a month or two ago, because it released and it's barely even functional at all. I've played probably about 20-30 hours of it and gotten pretty deep into the story, but there is a ridiculous lack of quality control. You can enter dungeons way too early and complete them, but that soft locks you because you opened a chest/defeated the dungeon boss and the item didn't drop because you accept the quest, but you can't get the boss or chest to respawn, and there's more than one instance in which I entered a dungeon without a item I needed, got stuck and didn't have the item I needed to get unstuck, making the hour or so of dungeon crawling before hand completely worthless.First version i tried i was able to start the game and by the time i left the 1st city already could register a party with 2 custom characters from the guild and advanced lvl to boot. that version bricked soon after so i'm guessing that the capability of carried data from the demo might have caused issues one way or another.. I even see the "cave of experience" dungeon completely empty of everything and i don't thing that was supposed to be like this.
I'm not like a casual, I love blobbers and have played dozens of much harder games of this exact type, so it's not a skill issue or a dig at the game's lack of direction or the obtuse things you need to do to progress, which is a staple in this genre; there's kind of a capital sin in the current state: you seem to be punished with softlocks and game breaking bugs for exploring in the exploring adventurer dungeon crawling game.
I would really, really recommend to everyone on the fence or just starting to muscle through with Mtool/shitty japanese ability to just wait for the translation patch and whatever patches the dev puts out between then and now, as the lack of ability to understand what's going on only compounds the effect of the game's massive amount of bugs.
