So I deleted all the mods and ONLY installed the patches 9,10, & 11 and it STILL crashes on startup. Good grief.
Well i am not a coder or anything but i did the same and my game worked... if you want i can send the patches and savegame and try putting them and running , otherwise i have no clue whats wrong here! If you downloaded and installed a fresh copy + installed the 1.44 patch and then put the ero patch into game dir， i think practically the game should have worked.
I'll try reinstalling the game as it crashes before the main menu pops up. I can't even access saved games. It's weird. Thanks for all your help though!
Maybe try running in japanese emulator or download the japanese version of game and then try putting the mods.
Ok, did some trials. Redownloaded and installed (from here, so the English patch is included). Ran in Japanese locale (no change). Patches 9 & 10 work with the English, *11* causes the crash. Also, patches 20, 62, and 67 cause crashes too. Weird.
Correction: the patches cause stuff to no longer be translated, and I cannot load old saves. A fucking hot mess and the best mods are only in Japanese. Fucking frustrating. Think I'll be dropping the game as the base game isn't as much fun.

Yeah i don't specifically know about 20，62 and 67 but i think （20 and 67 specifically ） they are for do whatever you want mod and not the ero mod... I have been telling you saves will not work- other patches will not work first use only fresh game and patch 9-10-11 then try testing other patches .Translation is the whole problem many names events etc collide with each other causing the error. instead of using english patch we use translator to compensate and play in Japanese. I have seperate copy +savegame for dnb mods specifically for ccmod +8party + multimarriage ， seperate copy for do whatever you want mod， seperate copy for eigil mod and seperate copy for ero mod and somehow i made all of them work so i know.

The Free Ero mod adds so much stuff with skippable NTR on an already solid game I would say it is worth going outside our confort zones for it alone
There are translator tools, incentives, an active modding community doing daily updates (yesterday they added Alex and Eric as Guest NPCs alongside Blue, Linus, Paladin Dude and all the girls including the two with wings), so, so much stuff going on
I honestly felt overwhelmed in the beginning but diving into it i've learned a bit more on game dev, some new tricks on cheat engine and about the translator tools i've always avoided using, which also led me to play other JAP only games i would have skipped otherwise
Many dudes here are non-native and they do fine enough on the games, we can tackle another language if the proper bait is there, it is worth
