Also sooner or later you have to start over again, because from v.0.8.3 onward your old save file can't be used anymore. So, my suggestion for you is, to start a new game now since there is not a lot new content at the moment. However, the latest update (v0.8.6) is shipped with an 100% save file just in case (yes, you also can change the name in this save file!).

You may reconsider your chose about finishing the old version before starting the latest update.

I'm certain that you are missing some optional updates.
- Check Windows Update under "Advance Settings", if the first option is "on".
- pls run dxdiag and provide a screenshot with your DirectX version.
(press Windows-Key and R wait for a Run dialog box and type: dxdiag - click enter)
- are you playing the latest version of the game (0.8.6)?
- No mods?
- are you using an old mapping.xlm (patch) file?

Very, very strange! Normally all animation should run!

Did you once change some registry keys in Windows?

Do you have some additional analytics tools for your GPU?

Which video encoder is select as standard for animation? (check it via K-Lite Tweak Tool)

EDIT: Stupid question, but did you reboot your PC once after installing Wind Updates or K-Lite Codecs? (maybe you are like me, where a PC runs 24h a day with no reboot.)

EDIT2: Pls post your save file here, I want take a look into it (.sav and .png).

Just a couple of suggestions you might want to try that may solve the problem of not being able to see the animated scenes..

1. When you first load the game, change the "graphic quality" to its lowest setting (Fastest) and try getting to one of the animated scenes during game play. If you're able to view the animation, restart the game and change the graphic quality to the next higher setting until you get to "Fantastic". This way you'll be able to determine the proper setting you need.
2. While ingame, click on the Settings (cogs) icon in the phone and change the framerate to 30FPS.

I might have found your problem!

By loading your save file, I noticed that non of the animation where archived in your gallery folder (inside the game). After testing animation with Veronica (sauna) and Ash (her bedroom) - where all of them were working for me - I noticed that these scenes where archived in the gallery folder now.

This means, that the game did not find the animations inside of the StreamingAssets folder on your PC!

After revoking permission for the StreamingAssets folder for my user, I was no longer able to play the animation from my PC. Giving my user all permissions for StreamingAssets back returned the animation function.

So, pls check if you have all permissions for the StreamingAssets folder!

Guys i have a diffrent problem my save files wont work with new game files. I deleted my old game folder (without saves) and extract the new game folder. And i moved save into new save folder. Now i can load game but i cant do anything my game bugging ? i dont wanna play again but i didnt finish the game so i donw tanna use %100 what should i do? Sorry for my bad english.Note:I cant click continue in menu so i tried in game load with phone it worked but bugged. 3th photo i clicked map button.

Saves from version 0.8.2 and earlier will not work with version 0.8.3 or higher. So you would either have to start a new game or use the 100% save that's included.

Yes, I am absolutely sure about that because I am one of the testers. Saves from 0.8.2 and below will not work with version 0.8.3 or higher because of changes made to the game. So if you load a save from, say, 0.8.1 into 0.8.6 not only will it bug the game but you will also lose all the items in your inventory. That is why 100% saves were included with each update that's been released since version 0.8.3.

You can, however, transfer saves from 0.8.3 to any of the newer versions.

Hi, I know this was asked before (this thread, page 2) but the proposed fix didn't work for me and I couldn't find any more about this problem.

I get the attached screen when I open up the phone ingame.



Here's the situation:

First I've followed the tips:
1. Checked the propertys of the installation folder and the savegame folder, I've got full access there.
2. Started the game as an admin, same problem.
3. Had the folder and the process added to my Avira exceptions.

I just downloaded the game for the first time 2 days ago and didn't add any mods or change the game in another way.
I had to delete the mapping.xml since the game wouldn't properly start with it (blackscreen after showing unity logo).
Hitting the continue button in the menu does nothing, I can't load the savegame thats already included. I even downloaded the newest savegame button from

The save and load buttons ingame do nothing as well.
My OS is Win7 64-Bit.

What's the full path to the game? Feel free to edit out any personal info in the path.
If the path is too long or has odd characters in it, it might have issues finding the savegame directory.

Wow, thanks. There was indded an Odd character in the path. Putting the game further up the directory tree fixed it.
Now I can even run the mapping.xml for some reason and I didn't know until now that there was sound in the menu :O.

I solved the problem. I copied to 0.8.6 a save of 2 days before (before bathing with Ashley) and everything was fine.

Hey all, I have a problem with running this game. It doesn't. Anytime I click the .exe my cursor shows some loading for a few seconds, and then nothing happens. No error messages or anything. I've scoured this thread for some answers, and my situation is currently as follows:

AMD A10-7850k Radeon R7, 12 compute cores 4C+8G
Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 Ti
12GB RAM
1920x1080 60Hz monitor

Software:
Windows 10 64bits, fully updated according to the instructions in this thread
DirectX 12
K-lite codec (not even sure I need it)
Windows Defender with exception for the map where I extracted the game to (D:/some folders/Manofthehouse[v0.8.6 Extra])
Latest driver from Nvidia Geforce Experience (v417.35)

I have tried:
Running as admin
Running with other windows versions
Lowering resolution via Nvidia and via compatibility
Changing system locale to US (I'm dutch)
Tried different kinds of patches posted in this thread (mapping) and without patch.

This is my first time playing the game, and so I have no previous saves. I just downloaded the most recent version today, and have been trying for a few hours to get any kind of response from the game, but so far nada. Is there some sort of additional software I need to download to play this?

Edit: any chance there's a hidden antivirus on my computer? So far haven't found one, but McAfee, Norton and Avast tend to creep onto my computer when downloading a program and spamming next.

Try to download Visual C++ 2015 86x and 64x.

EDIT: Also check if you have permissions (full access) to all game folder etc..
