Mod Maria - The Pregnant Warrior (Mortal Kombat Brutal Game) [Development Thread]

Hey everyone!​

I want to share with you my fighting game project (MKP) based on the M.U.G.E.N. engine, which I've been working on for quite a while now. It started out as a total joke, but it turned into a pretty long-term endeavor (a couple of years) because it just became downright fun to make... So, what happens if one of the Mortal Kombat fighters is a massive (almost gigantic) pregnant MILF on her absolute last term?

You got it – a pregnant, slightly plump, with a huge belly, massive tits ready to burst, and on top of that, she smashes her opponents just as hard as the Hulk combined with John Rambo. She's clad in heavy armor, has enormous size, raw power, and stamina, plus she's a professional soldier.
She's a villainous character who mercilessly obliterates her enemies with brutal and epic Fatalities (right now, she wins 70-80% of matches against tough AI), and she has her own solid motivation and a logical backstory.

I'm a huge fan of slasher and horror flicks, and coming up with those brutal, vicious Fatalities has turned out to be a really engaging hobby. I specifically added the pregnancy element to crank up the variety – it opens the door to all sorts of wild ideas. Plus, I've been itching for ages to dive into some proper trashy gore content.

Unfortunately, I can't share the full game yet, and I'm monetizing the project through donations for access to the Fatality and gore materials. Working on the sprites, code, and the whole project takes up a massive amount of time, so new content doesn't drop all that often.

Getting up and falling in defeat animation

I had to wrestle with the animation of her getting up from that semi-reclined position - given her "condition" and those massive dimensions.

In the defeat animation, I aimed to capture that sharp pain surging like a wave through her entire body, hitting her gut the hardest. It catches her completely off guard, slamming her bulky, heavy frame down onto her knees. I also wanted to hammer home the sheer weight of that cuirass dragging her downward, the way it clings tight to her swollen, overflowing body.

Maria is losing her protection - Animation

After taking a single loss (even if it's just in one round), there's a chance that attacks of a certain type can strip away her protection (which significantly reduced incoming damage to her). This leaves her extremely vulnerable to strikes, as her massive, soft belly becomes completely exposed to any and all attacks. She takes nearly double the damage from some heavy blows, and massive damage from combo attacks targeted at her gut plus, certain Brutalities can be unleashed within a specific window of time right after her cuirass flies off and she's left in a momentary daze, making it easy to finish her off quickly in that state.
In the animation, I tried to convey how the straps give way - they can't handle the weight of that thick iron armor - and unexpectedly for Maria, the cuirass comes loose from her bare, sweat - drenched belly, crashing loudly to the floor and causing her to panic in shock.
