So is this actually any good for someone who's never played Ace Attorney? i tried playing it and i just got so lost i couldn't really work it out, i might have just missed somthing, but i never really found much in the way of content? or is it one of those potential things, since i see this reasonbly high up in the rankings
The game is simple as hell... You just have to READ, which is key...
There are no court acts in there which were the only "difficult" thing in AA.

It is one of the best ntr/ hidden ntr game. I never played any ace attorney game either but I loved this game. This is 100/10 game.

The hidden aspect of this game is 10/10 and if you're worried about not having played any of the original games, don't be. I've only played half of the first game and I'm enjoying this immensely. Seriously give this game a shot.

DANGO, RELEASE THE UPDATE TODAY AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
Dev usually sends a message once he sends the new episode to the bug testers. Hasn’t happened yet, so there’s still at least a couple of days left.

His last post said it was a hopeful January release, which I think sort of implies its so late in January it could be next month and could still end up being next month anyway. Of course mentioning this means he will announce right after I post this so it can make me look dumb.
I'm going as fast as I possibly can, I promise. 12 hour days every day until it's ready. My last day off was Christmas eve.
Please bear with me a little longer, a smarter man than me would have split this into two or maybe three updates. There's AT LEAST 1 hour of gameplay in the update, probably closer to 1 and a half hours or more.
I'm not waiting to release, I'm not waiting to start testing, the second it's ready it will go to testers, and the second it's finished testing I'll release it.
I'm making this game because I love making cool shit, and I want other people to have cool shit to enjoy. One day I'll have a team working alongside me and I can make some REALLY cool shit in less time, but today is not that day, and it's just me 98% of the time.
I'm still hoping for a January release but I cant promise that, could be very early Feb.

Shigeru Miyamoto once said: "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." I think it can be applied to some update too, even if an update can be patch with another update : )
In another word, take you time, especially if you think you need it. Rushing is not great if it come with quality loss who can make the customers or the author unhappy too.
Also a lot here are asking for something we don't all pay, it's a little bit hypocrite. In that regard, i hope we can buy the game when it will be finished, i prefer contributing this way.
