Honestly, it's one of the most impressive RPGM games I've played. Some of the shots it's able to set up are really impressive and feels like you're watching an anime at times. You can tell the devs had a clear vision and a love for the story they wanted to tell with their attention to detail. I wouldn't say it's a perfect game though.
The story is on the darker, more serious side like something you'd see in a Cli Pick game, although not quite as dark. Which is great imo. The set and setting are easily 5/5. All of my issues pretty much come with how the game implements it's systems and some of it's pacing.
For example, there is a phone system in the game. Early on, you feel like you'll be able to call different characters and/or maybe catch them in the act because you can travel separately but this never materialized for me. With Melphi, the only person I was able to ever call was Shizuma ( MC ) for example. I think there is the bones of a great system here though and could be better implemented in future games.
Also...
My only other issue with it is pacing. Some parts get a little grindy, especially towards the end and that last dungeon was an absolute chore to get through. Luckily you don't have to actually go through random battles though if you don't want as you can just farm the 1 shot enemies for xp.
Overall though, since half points can't be given ( 4.5 ), I'd give it a 5/5. Because the visuals are unmatched really for an RPGM game, the storytelling and worldbuilding is great and I think it sets an incredible base game for what will be no doubt be one of the best devs going forward.
And the game is selling great on DLSite. It's good to see a dev that puts this much love, effort and attention to detail into it's game seeing great success. Congrats to the dorgel team, they made a banger!
