Ren'Py - Completed - Midnight Paradise [v1.0f Extra] [Lewdlab]

Great graphics with a good story. It has also animations which is wonderful. All characters are pretty except little sister, I just didn't like her look but textures are good. The first game(DOD) was very good but it was lack of animations, on the other hand this one will be excellent I think.

This review is for the 0.41 version.
First of all I have to say, I'm really disappointed, I had high hopes for the second big project after DoD, but let's start at the beginning.

The pro's:
- The ren'py version is finally bug-free, so you at least can play the game withaut freaking out.
- The game, has some very pretty renders, and the models look stunning
-It has good and several animations
-it finally has a hint system

The con's:
- The free-roam mode is really poorly done, on top of that, the story is very linear, so it's just unnecessary grind, that kills all the fun you could possibly have.
- The writing makes no sence, at many parts of the game, the story is just not gripping at all.
- The characters are really one-dimensional, you barely learn about their backstory, so I dind't cared about them.
- The game wastes the potential, the family-situation holds, and it also wastes its antagonists, the father and the brother are barely part of the story so far.

Conclusion: This projejekt would need a major overhaul (cut out the free-roam, fucus on the story) or it will soon fall into oblivion.

It's finally a serious play. Surely many people know but don't talk about the subject. No taboo these days, the "excursions" of neglected mothers. The game is nicely worked out, not a sex bomb mom, because it's not always real. That's just the way the team has been, they've been throwing a valuable theme. I look forward to the sequel!

Animations are flawless and the renders are above average for a top tier dev. Models are perfect.

Overall rating: 2/10
- zero gameplay or innovation (déjà vu grindy sandbox vn here)
- endless bugs, unacceptable for a veteran dev (choices wouldn't work for me until the settings were changed)
- not as many images as many were expecting
- writing was never their strong suit, didn't expect much there
- dev has given us no good reason to put up with unity's shortcomings vs renpy
- the preview video was great and got our hopes up too high

The final product end up being one of the worst launches in incest dev history. He had one shot at making an impression and blew it. I'll revisit the review when the updates come out.

Lets start with the fact that DoD was a master piece and that it probably got my hopes to far up.
+ the renders are very good; very high quality material.
+global story line is ok. ( got expelled from school and back to your ‘loving’ family)

-MC is such a douchebag that after a few min. Of playing this game i already despise him more than any other character sof ar.
-backgrounds and storylines of the characters are pretty bad. There is no backhround other than that they are your family.
-also langueage; like the everyone is quit vulgar. I get that the mc is a piece of shit, but at least try to not make that a main thing.

So anyway, maybe i am spoiled with the previous game, but this is (to me) rather disappointing so far.

It seems everyone seems to be using the rating system it's lewdlabs so it must be good. Well that isn't true and rating it objectively it is a poor-to average game

So lets start off with the positives
-Good renders
-Code works didn't detect any crashes
.......

Now the negatives
-MC is a douche and the player is forced to play out his life story
-game engine is unity
-numerous spelling and grammar mistakes
-Game design is poor. You are basically thrown back into your family but aren't given any guide on their personalities. So when a choice is presented you have no idea of how to react.
-Story at this point is generic and boring

Anything from Lewdlab has amazing renders. Anyway, here goes:

pros:

- Good renders, high quality graphics
- storyline is well built as far as the beta reveals (foreshadowing, option variety, branching, etc)
- likely to have strong character development, but that requires some wait

cons:

- seems like there might be possible NTR in future releases - i don't fk wit that

Despite a couple of expected glitches in any Beta release Lewdlab did not disappoint in this release. I actually laughed at the mixup of dialogues during dinner when Conner was speaking the mother's lines. Yes I wished it was done in Ren'Py and not so buggy, I had trouble running in Very High Quality with my 2 1080Ti's so I know it must be taxing on people's laptops. I thought the story is very interesting and I can hardly wait to see how he develops it. I may have to update my 1080Tis to 2080Tis so my VRAM will be stackable! It seems Lewdlab spent the money he's made on updating his system and has learned a lot by the awesome renders and animations in this game as well and it's def earned my Patreon support!

Excellent game and it will be on my top list here , The Mom is super hot , and Isabel is off the chart Genuinely one of the best games on here.
The flow and interaction of the game is smooth, the characters have some depth to them, the story is not too grindy, the scenes are extremely well done. The game is not even complete yet and it's the First release I am so excited to see future updates.

Incredible animations and renders! One of the best we've seen so far in this website. Women are drop dead gorgeous as well!

But the rest is not so good. I know it's a beta but the interface feels clunky, save system is not friendly, there is no rollback, no scene gallery, no music or sound effects. It generally feels pretty rushed and unfinished. I think Unity was not a good choice instead of the good old Ren'Py.

The story is nothing special so far. First chapter is relatively short. The MC is quite unlikable. Coming back home after not seeing sisters and mom for a very long time for some reason is something that we've seen excessively in adult gaming and unfortunately incest is unavoidable. Even though I played the so called "clean" version, the game gives you no space to think that the characters are not your family.

It seems it's going to build up to an incest fuckfest after months and months of grinding with the sisters and mom. So it might be best to wait for at least half a year before getting enough content to feel like you're playing something.

Will follow, but not as closely as I thought I would.

Very nice for a first release / beta.
Quality (even in preliminary state, like mentionned at the start of the game) is way above average and to be expected coming from Lewdlabs.

Story is promising, the MC has many challenges ahead for sure.

Characters so far are ok.
God I hope he gets it on with the landlady/mom!!
That 3D model is just perfect...oozes sex and sensuality.

I'll keep playing this game for sure.

Alright, since it's finally here it's time for a review. Because it's the first release, it's kind of too early to talk about the story. That is why I'm not sure yet how I feel about cocky rich kids fucking left and right. However, I'm glad that all the mystical things are probably gone in this game. Right from the get go I see that the dev hasn't lost his touch in terms of renders. They look stunning!

So, now it gets 4 out of 5 thanks to great renders and just because it's a Lewdlab's game which I've been looking forward to. Minor concerns for me are the story and, maybe, a new point and click system of which I'm not a fan of. Oh, and yeah, since we have been waiting for this game a long time, it would be nice to get more content for the initial release, but it is what it is. Anyway, looking forward to the future updates. Definitely recommend to try this game out.
