It's true that I find this one a bit below the others, but to be fair, the previous two set the bar so high that this one still has nothing to be ashamed of compared to what's out there right now. I found it rather short, even though I played it before it was fully complete (13 hours, and I often clicked through without using hints, so it could be even faster).
The characters are less engaging and developed, in my opinion, because in the previous games, their roles and uses added a deeper psychological dimension. Here, it's more simplistic, but it doesn’t take away the desire we feel for all of them. The adult scenes are decent — we've seen better from the game’s creators, but they get the job done. That’s the thing: it gets the job done — it's a game that does the minimum.
The manor was so interesting with its management aspect that the wait for this one raised expectations. Still, it has a lot of good points. The sandbox is fine — some empty areas and a bit of hide-and-seek for no real reason, but overall it's well done. The progression of scenes makes sense… unlike in other games where the sandbox is either fake choice or has too many choices, which can mess up scenes and the girls' reactions. Here, the triggers are well handled. There's clear software mastery.
The story is intriguing, decent, a bit predictable, but the scenes don't come out of nowhere. Another strong point is the MC — thankfully, he's not too dumb and has reasonable thoughts and reactions. He's not unpleasant. You do need to be okay with a very muscular type, which can make it harder to identify with him, but that’s subjective.
All in all, it’s enjoyable — a good game whose older brothers already proved themselves. And if you compare it to what’s being made nowadays, it’s actually pretty solid.
