But at the same time we all want these themes to be developed taking care of the story and the natural evolution of the characters. I think this is one of the reasons why this game is so special. The action is very exciting but I think what makes it even more exciting is the path and the motivations that lead the characters to the outcome. The dialogues and preliminary relationships make the temperature rise exponentially. For example:



BOB:

- I've been dreaming of doing you for a long time, you know?

- When you don't have easy access to sex.

- You start to fantasize things. You jerk off a lot.

- You imagine things you would do if you have the opportunity.

Personally I would love for Mila to be able to swallow Bob's whole tool and see it on screen. But not at any price. I disagree that NTR stuff is crap. In fact I usually prefer it to NTS esp. because it has more potential for emotional depth and psychological twists. This is if we're just comparing tropes, assuming no extra writing effort by dev.

NTS trope, unless it is humiliation/bdsm-focused, is usually rather superficial "you're my hotwife, I like watching you do this and that". A good point of comparison is Lisa: total investigation, in which it is Maledom corruption NTS and has zero depth, even lost the feel of gradual corruption when the rudimentary sandbox was replaced with a linear form.

I would rather say that this path is brilliant not because it isn't NTR, but because it has given depth to NTS. It didn't even depend on the aforementioned humiliation-stuff while focusing on what the girl is thinking not the guy...

Even more generally, it has presented a rarely seen loving female dominant. I think this is more the point you're making: her "cheating" and domination do not contradict her respect for Paul.

I kind of agree that the Mila's NTR path doesn't have the same depth sometimes, after first conversation with dick and during the training stage, esp. with regard to relationship with husband. .

It is probably limited by the constraints set by dev, the decision to go down the rabbit hole has been fully committed to by Mila and there's not long resistance by Paul or attempts to stop it by Liz (actually some potential here, maybe there's plans to play on this, Liz's retisence and the plot to corrupt her by Dick with Mila were mixed at the end of the party by some concern for Mila, so who knows if she tries to save Mila).

More depth might require longer resistance by Mila's pride/loyalty/tight-hole/etc. and/or Paul's love/possessiveness and/or Liz's feminism/care for Mila etc.... But these would require elements that dev and many readers seem to be averse to (non-consensual stuff, harrassment, ntr and cuckolding, humiliation, etc.). You yourself seem to be writing off ntr and humiliating the husband as superficial by definition, so IDK, I'm not sure if you'd care even if dev wove in a freudian treatise.

But it isn't really superficial either, as there's loads of thoughts and some conflict in Mila's monologues, plus the Liz stuff and the short-lived reconciliation on the party day. These scenes/situations could have been further developed, yes, but I wouldn't call the path superficial or unoriginal.

The game, in all paths, is generally not a paint by numbers, watch your preferred trope VN. Sure there's hit/miss and the author's preferences and the audience he chooses to cater to, which limit it. But overall, it's a project focusing on the inner story and character's mental development as a whole.
