It was avoidable, I think. But, that's not the point. Promises matter. When you say "No, I will not be adding something." You DON'T add it. I will refrain from saying what I really want to say about those who break promises.
Trueee, I think before a game is created, the flow of the story is completed and you only need to publish it, compare it to a LN/Manga/Anime. Because I've seen Devs who are passionate in creating games, they do not falter on the different opinions and suggestions of fans, and they stick to their principles and the original story of there own games (that's a W dev and I can name a few). Promising an Ntr free game, then surprising the players leaves a bad taste, especially not all are fan a of that tag. Money is really can run everything huh, wishing this game will not fall on the same fate on the first one.
