These r things someone that doesn't know much else about rugby would say but something something about Jordan Mailata making american football look easy with how easily he transitioned from rugby to american football. Also there's this one Irish NFL analyst that always talks about how NFL offenses need to borrow more of the pitches/lateral concepts from rugby. But yea that's the extent I can say anything about rugby lol
Also asked that initially cuz there seems to be a lot of grievances in the MTC thread about how football centric it is and all the jargon (even with the glossary etc). I've only just started the game (paused as I've been meaning to modify the screens.rpy file to reduce friction) but personally that seems to b a rlly cool aspect of it; I'm a big american football and (pro) basketball fan (big enough basketball fan to know about the NBL and NZNBL haha. Shit ass college basketball can fuck right off)

I often think bring in some laterals from rugby and you could gain an advantage. Look at Detroit on the weekend, the lateral would have won them the game because no one expected it. (Unfortunately they had been previously penalized, so it didn't count).
I suspect most of the complaints about it being focused on the story, rather than the lewds. You know what zonies are like.
Funny thing is I started this 2 years ago, but stopped for some unknown reason and didn't write down why. So I gave it another go, because I liked the look of the girls and enjoy sport based ones (most of them anyway
) and it's perfectly in my favorite things. Nothing's forced (yes, there's a girlfriend to start, but there's no forced lewds, barely any romance and a couple of kisses), you can turn down most of the MG, (some you can only say I don't know for now), you can play solo paths or build a harem with the girls you choose. Interesting sports and crime stories, so I'm really baffled why I stopped.There's 2 girls early on and you take one of them with you when you move. You don't get a choice and I really wanted to take the other one, but I really doubt that would have stopped me, as I knew you would still get the other one at some point. So I don't know.
There was a couple of scenes I was waiting to happen that never did, so I wonder if when I stopped another one that had those scenes, I accidently stopped this by mistake. That's all I can think of, because it's exactly what I look for.If I had one complaint it would be the MC is a massive flirt with every girl he meets, it feels a bit off to me, to flirt and then turn a girl down. But the girls take it fine and it's such a minor thing, otherwise I have no issues at all.
But yes, it's for one for those players that enjoy the story/romance/journey, don't play it for the lewds. Having some football knowledge is helpful and gets me cracking up at a lot of the hidden easter eggs.

Shit, I need to get back to playing it... I stopped halfway through chapter 2 but I enjoyed it so far.
Is it weird that the lack of save naming is a turn off for me ?
I like to keep seperate saves for every LI but it hard to keep it organized with so many girls and no named saves.

Yes. Very good (to me anyway), I have it as a 5. I think, the main thing keeping it out of my Top 25 for now is that most of the relationship development has been with the girls I don't really care for. The girls I really like are still waiting to get their paths started/going.

Nice, last I checked u had Amelia listed as "not lewdable" and I was disappointed cuz she easily looked like the hottest character. Superficial ik but there's so many other games I haven't yet played haha

After the first release she looked like not lewdable and just an old friend.
But with the remaking and new coding/variables she's been added as a MG. (Which I'm happy about, she seems really nice).
The first release was pretty much a kinetic novel with forced lewds and choices, but the re-release has significantly improved. Nothing is forced, you can make choices about who to pursue. The only downside is some of the dialogue still remains and talks about MC having to make choices between girls, and MC deciding how he feels about the girls, rather than the player. But it has a lot more player agency now. A really good improvement.

Ok cool, so u do at least moderately follow the NFL. No offense obviously, just couldn't tell the extent from what u said earlier and didn't wanna assume. And yea that play is a good example (and an admirable effort by Goff too haha). U c it more commonly in off script moments like that one but there seem to be a lot of route concepts you could design to take advantage of it. Eg anything over the middle, even deep dig routes and get the receiver to engage the safety and then pitch it outside. I mean u could prob think of ways in a more educated manner than myself but there's def more to tap into than just hook and ladder plays (which r so successful idk why they aren't run more)

Cool cuz I have it downloaded and already made my usual QOL improvements to the menu etc (was also annoying that the dev mapped shift+i to toggle the player_overlay screen, rather than leaving it for the dev mode style inspector, so that obv had to be changed.), so I'll pull it up sometime soon and play through it

I watch about 10 games a week, even get up at 3am every Monday to watch games during the season.
Everytime I see 2 players running at one defender, I think if you just ran at the defender and just before you contact, flip the ball to the other player, it would be a TD every single time. I think the big difference though is ball security, in rugby or league if you give up the ball in your own half you have a chance to defend and stop any points being scored. In NFL, give up the ball in your own half and you're pretty much guaranteeing they'll get at least 3 points.
