This could have been a perfect game if it wasn't for rushed/abrupt ending (leaving many plot holes behind).
I think the game didn’t go the way Dev'd originally planned. A lot of content were removed, most noticeably NTR/voyeur scenes and a bunch of scenes involving the original second MC - James (aka the main villain), some of his scenes are still in the gallery, though.
I played both versions - before and after the remake - so the changes were pretty clear.
The way I see it - the game was supposed to have 2 perspectives/storylines - MC & James.
But, eventually... a lot of James’ content was cut, and the dev wrapped things up quickly, leaving a lot side plots hanging. It’s especially noticeable since the story was the main appeal of the game to me.
We actually discussed this in another thread a while ago, so I'm going off some old notes. Still, it was long ago, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on any of this:
1) There was a rival gang at war with Benjamin's crew (that gang just disappeared at some point)
2) That drug "VICE" and the mastermind behind the secret labs, - why were they distributing free samples to the homeless shelters? And what was the FBI/government’s connection to the VICE experiments? (left unanswered. The FBI agent shows up, grabs the product, and bounces, leaving MC and Zoey wondering WTF just happened (and us too))
3) There was a subplot with Grace's brother who was an addict with debts, the whole reason why Grace became mob's slave (her brother simply died off screen in the middle of chapter 6. And we, as a player - get zero say or closure on Grace’s arc)
4) It was hinted that the receptionist was a mole working for the rival gang against Benjamin's gang (that plot just vanished, and now she's just a side fuck playing no role, not complaining too much though - Cindy’s hot chick 
)
5) As mentioned, James seemed like he was supposed to be the 2nd MC - the mole inside the police. (mostly his scenes have been removed including scenes where you learned things about Grace past and Benjamin business)
6) Who tipped Benjamin off to have James and Joey killed? (no answer)
7) MC and Zoey’s backstories were set up but never explored. At the beginning MC said he became a cop to make up for something in his past (which is?... nope, left completely unexplored), Zoey said she became a cop to avenge someone from her past (who?)
8) Finally - at the end, it’s revealed that VICE is still being sold elsewhere, which kind of makes you feel like your whole journey amounted to... nothing. This one probably left the bitterest aftertaste.
Overall, the game had a ton of potential. But it’s clear the dev got tired of it and just wanted to wrap things up quickly to move on to their next project.
That said - I do recommend With Eyes Closed (if you like mafia theme ). It has a great branching and a much smoother plot (so far). I’m really enjoying it.
Also - solid taste, Zoey’s my favourite too

during my first natural playthrough (no guides), Grace got killed by Jack
I just reread my post, and it probably sounds a bit like gibberish at times - I’m only on my first cup of coffee, so I’m still half-awake
