Summary: I played the main story and the four villains. I found the trials confusing, but using the walkthrough got me over that. The art was nice, and the writing very good.
Cons:
* I haven't played 'trial/courtroom' games before, but I found this rather difficult. Trying to object on the correct text line when an idea is relayed over multiple dialogue lines felt similar to pixel-hunting with a time limit. So, I decided to just use the dev-provided walkthrough, and that made the game way more enjoyable.
* The game's menus are a bit clunky. If you go to the menu, you can only go back if you save the game, the text history is limited, and it's slow to scroll scenes to find interactible points.
Pros:
* The writing is good-to-great. It was nice to get to know the characters, they all acted true-to-character, the plot was good; I also enjoyed some characters having some personality flaws, which brought in some nice complexity. The strong point of the game.
* The art was a bit sparse, but very nice. This is a slow-burner, rather than a porn fest, and, fortunately, the writing was good enough to carry that.
* The investigation part of the game is also good.
Suggestion:
I think that I would've had more fun with the trials if the choices were structured in a dialogue tree; perhaps discrete choices, rather than the continous ability to press Object/Agree/Disagree, would have made the gameplay 'crisper', and easier for me to orient in.
