Unity - Completed - Mission Mermaiden ~Hasumi and the Deep Sea Sisters~ [Final] [hakkaku]

The girl is cute and the sprite work is great, that much is obvious from the preview images. The game, however, is not that interesting to play. Most non boss enemies get 1 shot, and the movement feels nice, but you are only given 3 moves total, which makes the 1 shot and movement lose its value. Also, this game does not have any Hscenes, only sprite art, alot of which is kinda hard to beat off (some bug stuff, lots of penetration is hidden) but you can move around with debuffs like hypnosis/estrus which is something nice that not every Hgame has. This is not too long of a game, around 3 hours and you can clear it.

Maybe I downloaded the wrong file because I also couldn't buy any items from the shop, nor could I remove any of my debuffs. I might have missed some other things given that those things were bugged, but those 2 things really annoyed me. Gameplay is 2/5 and the H is 3.5/5, mostly attributed to the sprite work just looking good.

Mission Mermaiden isn't without it's flaws, but it is a passion project that is worth playing from the creator Hakkaku. This is their first platformer game, so it is amateurish, but in good faith. I think the game can be appreciated more when given this excuse.

Story - X
Basically nonexistant, and not the focus. You are travelling the world encountering monsters. It isn't really a story game at all.

Gameplay - 4
Not great, not nearly as bad as truly amateur platformers in terms of mechanics. Eventually you can get used to what is going on with movement and attacking. There isn't much else to do gameplay wise outside of progress each map, the home base has very little progression. Extremely average.

H Content - 8
Obviously the focus, and if you like the fetishes, it is extremely high quality for that. It is very much the same kinks as their other games: bdsm, hypnosis, tentacles, defeat, corruption.

Misc - 7
I think the translation patch does some disservice making it look worse. And it can make progressing more difficult, as well as unlocking all content. I believe it's just a fan made patch so don't discredit the game for it!

Overall - 8/10
I believe all-together it shines much more than it's flaws hold it back. I recommend their other games if you like this content, their latest game refined platforming greatly (Hachina). Their first game was an rpg maker game, similar but different.

Story: The previous game had a decent, if underutilized story and worldbuilding. Surely this one will build something on top of it? Ha, as if. There story is so barebones to the point where it might not exist.
It's nonsensical too - Hasumi is exactly the same as Sami, what the conflict is even about?

Gameplay: jumping is scuffed, all enemies die in one hit and yet manage to be annoying, status effects may leave you stunlocked until RNG lets you go, and I fell through the floor once. It's not all that bad, but it's consistently annoying.

Scenes: Pretty nice, although there aren't that many of them. Worthwhile if you're looking for some hypno content

Fluid attack but without any combo cancel is just infuriating to play especially with an enemy that can instant grab you.

and her ultimate weapon cannot be aimed, only One Direction.

Story
Hazumi (not the pregnant one) go to an island and strike gold. There's someone doing secret experiments there.

And she slaughtered every horny things to find out.

Sex scene
There's groping, monster sex, milking, vore tentacles, sex machines, hypnotized by many things especially by bosses under some certain conditions were met.

All sprite animations no cgs despite how cute they are.
They just there for you to imagine things.

Hazumi either instantly lose herself or slowly losing one but whatever happens to her, it's not permanent.

and annoyingly inconsistent hide what enemy do to hazumi genital which is frustrating while some enemies spread her legs.

game is bugged. you have to change sound/music in main menu else you will have no sound during game.

aside from that game is boring. it's too easy to escape from enemies (idk what other reviewer was smoking that it's hard)

sure you can get some debilitating conditions if you are willing to lose on purpose when getting caught, THEN the further defense against H-attack have some weakening effect (like hypnotism) but again, you have to not press escape once. very bad game design.

even on harder difficulty all it changes is you take more dmg.

and even when you take more dmg and you die... nothing happens. no corruption, no H-scene.. you just restart... no consequence.

so again, very bad game design. BORING game.

This game is really cool.
It's a 2D plateformer with a classic metroidvania gameplay, with a lot of different ennemies to encouter. Each ennemy can perform H scene.
Several statut modifications can be applied, such as hypnosis, and you can unlock some stuffs through them.
The corruption system works really well.

A bit on the shorter side, but still great fun nonetheless. Mission Mermaiden has a relatively compelling story about a high school girl special ops agent named Hasumi who meets a couple of androids during her investigation, and upon learning of their true form and impending destruction, attempts to save them by persuading them to stop their destructive plan. The art is consistently good, and the pixel art animations of Hasumi ending up in precarious situations such as being brainwashed by tentacle jellyfish monsters or ensnared my milking devices were very hot. Although this game doesn't primarily focus on Hasumi getting raped by human partners, there are a few such encounters, albeit with humanoid androids. The story also has a true ending that you can achieve by collecting all of the orbs hidden through out the stages. Finding all of them wasn't too difficult, although I found one of the orbs on 1-2 to be frustrating to find. Overall, I found Mission Mermaiden to be an enjoyable game, whether it be for the games content or the fapability

This is the perfect game, maybe a little too short ... Would love more enemies, more bad end, more scenes ... Cause it's very good!

People claims it's too easy, but ... It's a porn game right? If you want to rage or get frustrated Darksouls is for you. Or at least the very hard mode should be only for people wanting it, nothing bores me more than those stupid games in RPGM with H content locked behind impossible and too long boss fights.

Yes here it's easy and you get the content you wanted. But be aware you might still have to restart the last stages a few times, some boss are not THAT easy.

I also enjoyed the labyrinth things don't complicate the thing too much either, i hate to be lost in a stage with nothing to do for hours. Again, if people wants to experience this, go outside in a part of the city you don't know without your GPS and good luck. Here it's a Hgame and thank's god you don't get lost in it at least not for more than a few minutes.

So love it, with Unholy Disaster and Parasite city will be my 3 preferred games of this kind.

The game is really good, but its way to easy
+good scenes (all animated and in place)
+the condition system is amazing
+variety of enemies and bosses
+good amount of fetishes also some nichee (restrained, hypno, lactation)
+fluid combat
+generally good graphics and sound
+story ok, its pretty simple and short (MTL doesn't take away from the experience)

Now the only thing that really takes away from the experience is the difficulty. Every non-Boss enemy dies in one hit, the ai isn't smart enough to make up for it. Escaping restrains is way to easy. Even on the highest difficulty (unlocked after clearing the game) only the bosses are noticeably more difficult. Only if you have tons of negative conditions and high pollution, you may fail an escape check unintentional, but to get any conditions and pollution you have to fail them in the first place.

If you play serious you can easily escape everything, you can heavily boost yourself through perks, you can remove any condition with a cheap item and fill your transformation (which also heals and removes all negative effects). So to get any scenes you have to make yourself fail. There is no game over for h-scenes anyway

Suggestion for anyone playing:

• Play on fullscreen, the cg is pretty small
• Start on hard difficulty.
• Carry only 1 Purifier and Mobile Charger or even better none at all and only use transformation to remove conditions
• use the "transformation doesn't remove conditions" and "pollution increase" equipment as soon as you get them
• don't use equipment "slower resistance drop" and "more dmg against bosses"
• seldom remove conditions, some h-scenes depend that you have specific conditions

escaping restrains will still be easy 95% of times. Try not to hard or give yourself a challenge (e.g. escape using only one finger, fail if you get restrained twice by the same enemy type)

This is the perfect porn game.

The main reason is that It has gameplay elements that matter and make sense to keep you engaged and understand what is happening, while not being hard or taking itself too seriously by overly-penalizing the protagonist for getting raped. It is an easy game, not an accurate 2D parody of dark souls.
This enables the player to be always aroused while he's playing, constantly having access to sex animations and the freedom to decide how much progress speed to sacrifice for masturbation on sex scenes, and this game is designed exactly for that. Instead of only relying on gallery, which defeats the point of playing a porn game, but as an addition is a good thing.

Graphically it could be better quality wise when zooming in, but for the style it is going for - it's very well put together. Animation and enemy variety is also good. You never feel like the protagonist is doing the exact same animation just with different enemy.

Movement feels smooth, FPS and overall game stability is good. Whatever bugs or problems you might encounter will be rare and minor or because of compatibility/translation.

Protagonist voice are varied enough and generally the sound is pleasing in my opinion.

While it's not a perfect game and there are many improvements that could be made, specifically as a *porn* game and it does it's job as good as I could've asked for in the limitation of the developer's vision, available time and effort. And you don't need a lot, just do it right. I wish it was longer and had more content, and that's not a criticism, but a compliment, because it made me want more, not because it necessarily needed it.

This game is just disappointing, the combat is primitive in its complexity and it feels like im playing a very early version of a beat em up game, its just missing something in its gameplay. The story and progression is also nothing to tell your mother about. The one good thing that this game has is its sex scenes, they really good, detailed and fluidly animated.

The only saving grace for this game is its sex scenes and nothing else.

I had finished this game for a while. I just never got the time to review it. I came back to play on the highest difficulty setting to get a feel of the game again. If I could give this game a 4.5/5, I would but I rounded down.

Pros:

• Wonderful artwork
• Fluid movement for Hasumi
• Platforming isn’t difficult
• A lot of unlockables
• Decent story
• Great animation for the porn
• A lot of status effects that show you what is going on. You can then implant it on yourself to get bad endings or to make the game more challenging.
• This game is a sequel to the Crest of the Undercrust. A lot of Hasumi’s backstory and her relationship with Marco is all in that game and while it's not required to play it, this game is under the assumption you knew what happened.

Cons:

• The game is rather short once you make it to the end. There’s nothing to do postgame.
• The game is easy even on the highest difficulty setting.
• There is some collision failure in a few areas in the first area. If you try to jump onto a higher platform, sometimes Hasumi gets stuck and you have no choice but to fall down.
• Death pits are only in the first level despite the introduction making that one area pointless.
• Hasumi’s transformed form is overpowered, so there’s no real reason to stay in her normal form unless you enjoy it from a hentai perspective.
• Certain bad endings are achieved by having a certain status effect at a given time. While the game tells you what you need in the gallery section, if you don’t read it, you’re stuck.
• The parasite status effect is difficult to obtain. It’s in the early part of the level, you have to be stuck on it for a while and it’s not guaranteed to lay a parasite. You need a stronger version of said parasite in order to get the blue plant in Hasumi’s room.
• The story is unsatisfying even after obtaining all the secret files. Game leaves it open for another adventure with Hasumi but the fate of the villains are left unknown. (You can’t save them despite the circumstance they are in).
• The corruption doesn’t do anything except change the expression on Hasumi’s face in the menu. Maybe it does increase the chance of getting status effects but only the parasite is RNG based.

The game is pretty good. Its very easy, but honestly, I like it that way. Worth a try if you like robots, tentacles, lesbians and/or hypnosis.

Really liked that game, my favorite MC game so far.

The game mechanic is really a turn on and the fighting is OK.

I found the movements a little klonky (trying to jump while starting to go down a slope does not work since the game see you as in the air for 0.3 seconds).

Too bad for the MTL.

This game is NOT MTL despite the thread and people saying it is.

While I would not recommend playing this game for the challenge it does have many other things going for it.

There are a number of enemies all of whom have scenes and these scenes can change depending on what conditions the character has been inflicted with.

The art for the game is solid and makes for interesting viewing but this is a very subjective point and you can judge yourself. On the technical level animations looked pretty smooth and well done.

On the matter of difficulty as a person who normally avoids beat 'em ups I managed to progress easily enough. Just remember when trying to progress to keep clear of conditions as they make grapples harder to escape and to keep on top of upgrades.

Story isn't the most creative or inspired but it serves the job of giving the game context and meaning and I did find myself smiling a little when achieving the true ending so while not particularly creative it does seem to hit the right notes.

Game is fairly short with a handful of levels to a world with a couple of boss fights each and three worlds total.

On the whole an enjoyable experience to play in a genre that is normally not to my tastes. With its decent pace and short length it is worth giving a try even for those who find more traditionally difficult beat em ups frustrating.

I never liked the button-press-struggle system, it's always either too easy or impossibly hard. Developers should find a better alternative. Regardless, this game is decent fun. It is rather easy, however, even on hard and abyssal. And if you ever manage to get tons of status effects and pollution, you can lock yourself in endless orgasm loop where the hypnotism prevents you from breaking out but you will never die either. Thankfully you can still exit to the map, so it's not a soft lock.

Look up the first few pages of discussion: Set up the compatibility mode and get the more completed translation.

A final note: Using the auto-struggle option will completely break the game as it ignores hypnotism and will always break out of grabs. With regular system the struggle is still easy, but if you are hypnotized there's a chance you get disabled long enough to get fucked.

while this game suffers from MTL, i played this game untranslated, only having a translator app to get a general idea of the game, and it succeeds in both being Fappable and erotic, along with being fun in an action game perspective, the movement is nice, all i can say is that there could be more content in terms of enemies to be fucked by. the sexual status system is also stange, as you need a specific item to remove the status's, which you can buy in the shop, otherwise, the status stays.
