Ren'Py - Completed - Mist [v1.0.3] [395games]

Wow! I played this game once a long, long time ago. There was 1 girl. I think she just had a handjob scene and that was it. The art was great and the story sounded interesting but there was obviously a ton missing. I knew the game would be good one day.

Flash forward to today at 0.7a, and that day is not coming... it has already passed! The game is great! I have not completed all of the content in this version yet, but wow, the dev has done a great job. The game-to-H balance is great, the game side is good, the H side is awesome (which is just where an H game should be imo).

Game: The characters are interesting, as is the plot. Dialog is well written. I sympathize with MC and with the girls. There is a little "grind" midway through but it is perfectly fine (assuming you choose the "Feast" starting option that gives you a lot of food). Navigation is easy with the three checkpoint positions that unlock, and combat is as complex as it should be in an H game without seeming like a useless feature.

H content: oh boy. You can check out the art in the image previews, but you can't preview the animations. The animations are AWESOME. Super smooth. I only wish there was some way to speed some of them up as most of them (by my standards) are a teeny bit slow for an H game. The dialog is great, starting shy and meek and turning raunchy and kinky as the characters get more familiar fucking each other. It's great.

I haven't finished the game yet, so I can't ultimately say what should and shouldn't be done to improve, but I have played many hours so far and I was very impressed. I imagine my only critique might be to finish the game! Great job.

It's a great game. Story is engaging, dialog is comprehensible, animations are good, updates are consistent, objectives are clear.
Just had to get over the cartoon look of the characters, but the mushy vaginas are all that matters

Original and imaginative story/game.
The Story itself is interesting and does make you want more.

Graphics are very good
Story is immersive and interesting.
Saves slots are numerous, although a delete option on them would be nice.
Animations are very good, BUT they are rather short. Would be so much better if the sex was longer, seems rushed.
Fight system is decent enough and pretty original for this type of game.

Very good so far, it does make you want more and that is a big thing for an adult story/game, it's not boring.

I do have to stress that the Animations really need to be increased, with the quality of graphics this has, short sex scenes make a player go Awww damn done already, that was too quick.

Hats of to the Dev for this one, nice job so far.

The game is much better streamlined, the early story arc for Robin was re-written and is honestly much better. It's a great game, combining porn and really good story with cool twists. I can not wait for the next update!

A very solid game with fun premise, intriguing story and cliche but very fun characters.

First off, don't get fooled by the version number, there is a lot of content and game in here. I didn't time it, but it's above 10 hours. Probably more.
Second, the style is not as serious as you might think at the start. Treat it like an anime story with all the tropes coming to play. Including characterization. I was a bit off putted at first (Robin's story arc is not the best executed thing in the world), but once Mia came to play, things clicked and I fell in love with the game. Don't expect King, expect Kishimoto.
The game encompasses many things - survival, fantasy, sex (lots of it) and menages to skirt the darkness, without submerging you in to it. The story has enough twists and turns to be engaging at all times. A few winks at the 4th wall here and there.
Also, animations. Don't be off put by the somewhat unconventional way the girls look, after an hour you won't care and my god is almost everything animated. Like almost everything has an animation.
Also, number 2. I've rarely seen RenPy utilized so well. The UI is not the clunky mess most RenPy games suffer from, the transitions are nice ans smooth and I've ran in to 0 bugs.
All in all, the attention to detail, the really fun story, likable characters and obvious improvement in the writing hooked me up and I strongly recommend the game to anyone.
PS: Don't bother playing on easy, normal is already quite easy.

Played 0.6.2 and I should say, this game is awesome. Some game you play just to complete the gallery so you skip the dialogues, some game you just wanna know the story so you skip the scenes. But not this game. Both the scenes and the story gets to you. The animation style is not the kind you always see on most of the game. There were some instance of grammar/spelling error but it's practically invisible (I think 1 only saw 2-3 on my first playthrough). Characters are really likeable but does not give the feeling that they will just spread it for you (though they technically did, there was some connection made prior to that). I really like the dynamics of each character that this game has. Good job!

the best game on this site, straight up

Actually great story/gameplay, which is rare af in these games, but more importantly, I've never seen higher quality of animations, there is a lot of content, and it has regular and FAST updates, no milking patreons, no waiting year for an update. It's amazing overall, and no other game comes close right now

This is a great game with amazing animation and good design. It's very clear that a lot of work went into making this and I have enjoyed myself a lot so far. It can be a bit grindy in places but not so much so that it ruins the game. The combat system is pretty good for turn based and simple enough not to be distracting. My only problems with this game so far is that there aren't enough lewd scenes and the ones there wasn't enough anal for my liking. Also, the vent mission was cancer. Other than those small critiques,this is a great game and I encourage anyone reading to support the devs.

Reasons for 5* :
I believe the atmosphere of the game is definitely one of the best and unique.
Gameplay is also something you don't see on most of this type games, I actually enjoy it. And sometimes I even play for gameplay instead of lewd scenes and story (I started on easy mode, and after some time put on normal mode cause gameplay is truly better that way).

Not so short conclusion:
I will start with a lower note .I have to agree with some other in depth revives. The story , dialogue and gameplay itself is lacking. Some things feel really forced (dialog and story vise) It starts from a good pace, and suddenly "!!!!!Small Spoiler in brackets ahead!!!!!!"---[the moment you get black mark on your hand] ---things just happens , and you feel like you missed part of stories and scenes pace. There was a build up and in the middle of it , there here you go you are on the peek now.
Better note : All and all I feel like this game have very strong pillars for gameplay , story, atmosphere and characters. You can definitely see places where little and even strong polish is needed. If you can surpass that for the moment its a great game on all accounts. Story, gameplay , and characters are interesting and to too convoluted. Lewd scenes are really well done. This game has really big potential in my opinion , when its finished and polished up . It can be one of the best games in scene, after which you will try to look for somethin similar ant wont find

I first reviewed this game about 9 months ago and was rather put off by it. The game had some issues with it's mechanics, grinding stats and exploring were frustrating and overall were just unfun . The writing and dialogue was quite awkward and there were some early sequences with Robin that were quite exasperating.

Still, the art for this game was great and other people seem to keep enjoying so I decided to wait and check for updates. I am glad to say, most of these issues have been fixed and it is clear the developer has been putting a lot of effort into polishing this game!

I played on "feast" mode which is the easier, story focused version of the game. The grinding of stats is gone. Stamina and threat seem to have been rebalanced for exploration and you now level up natural as you explore. The pacing overall feels much better.

Scenes with Robin seem to have been completely rewritten and changed, making the flow of your relationship feel much more smooth and positive. The negative scenes where things were her go wrong have been removed and now there are interesting dialogue you can have in the evening with her at the end of the day so the relationships develop more naturally. Overall it feels like a breath of fresh air has been brought here.

I'm really glad a took the time to come back to this game and give it another chance. It really is great to see the developers putting so much effort into their art and making something worthwhile.

There are still some issues with the game. For example, it is easy to spend an entire week fishing without catching a single fish. The random encounter threat system gets somewhat repetitive. I still found a few times where I there was nothing to do and was just sleeping to make days go by while defenses were built etc. Some of the dialogue is still a bit rigid or uncomfortable. For example I was surprised the characters found splicing an electrical wire such a challenge.

Overall this is a great game with an interesting story that the dev has shaped into something unique and enjoyable.

So I had a review up for this game some years ago. I still have some qualms but they are minor in comparison to the old complaints. I played through the section that my original review covered and the changes to the early story are like night and day. Even went back to find an old build to see if my memory and the old review matched reality. Truly a turn around in quality. Now the gameplay still isn't much to write home about but there is enough there to flesh out the setting. The rest of game shines enough to forgive this minor complaint.

Excellent game, looking forward for new versions. Gameplay is not grindy, and interesting. Great graphics and story. There is no bad sides in this game, it is just awesome. You can easily spend hours.

By far one of, if not the most, polished and enjoyable adult games I've ever played. genuinely surprised by the quality of the animation, story, and gameplay and I'm eagerly awaiting the next update.

I really liked this game. It have an awesome history.
It happens in almost all NSFW games but the sex escenes occurs without any tie to the history but I wanna say taht it isn't necesary bad.
I really enjoyed this game and i'm waiting for a update soon.

At first I didn't like this game at all because it crashed all the time.
I wanted to play easy mode because I thought that I'd have to grind my arse of in this survival type of game.
It turned out to be some sort of issue with the easy mode because using normal mode the game didn't crash and turned out to be near perfect!
And to my surprise I didn't have to grind my arse of to gather materials.

The majority of the story worked in the setting of the game, the scenes are beautiful and the environments are nice too. Just look at the furnishing of the cottage as an example. The only thing that nagged me a little bit was that the cartoonish look of the 3d characters doesn't fit in an otherwise realistic environment.
There are quite a lot of sex scenes which are animated beautifully.

However there are still some issues with the game which makes the code crash. Fortunately the crashes can be avoided by either ignore or backtrack.
So having that in mind plus the non working easy mode the game get -1 in the rating.

I'm looking forward to future releases!

Freaking love this game so far. I can overlook some of the grammar issues ("lifes" instead of "lives", etc) because the game is really well made in just about every other way. The characters look good and use totally original models (not your typical Daz stuff), the animations are rendered really well and look dead sexy, and the story is unique and well written.

It's a bit of a slow burn. Things take a little while to pick up, but I didn't find this to be grindy at all. There's so much you don't know about what's happening that I found myself totally engaged and lost track of time.

Tl;dr this is one of the better games I've played on this site and it's definitely worth checking out. Can't wait to see what happens next.

One of the best games on this site, at first I was thrown off by the art style but I was interested in the story so pushed on and I can say I was wrong the art is great. The game isn't super grindy and focusing on fewer characters makes each scene much better.

This is one of the best games here. The storyline tethers very loosely to the cliché of founding a utopia in the middle of dystopia. But its written so good you still find yourself sucked into the writers world. I want to reference another game whose monsters would be a perfectttttt...... Match for this game but alas..... Rules. The monsters here are not to be dismissed in any way as wanting either but my opinion of the additional monsters from Deviant Ano....... Ah I can't say it. I like that he's keeping his art style original compared to the copy and paste themes a lot of other games are going with. The characters are very lovable and the writing brings out so much personality out off each one of them. I was skipping this game for months until boredom got me to try it now its in the top 5 of the best games I have ever played. Hope to dev continues the Great work done so far.

One of the most boring grindy games that you will ever see. It is not a slow burn or a slow pace where you see character development or anything like that, the gameplay is the problem. It doesn't matter if you take the easy or normal mod you will keep grinding and repeating the same boring quests again and again.
Could be worth it if it has some hot girls with good personality sadly the characters suck, ugly girls with horrible personality from the dumb girl to the drama queen.
The dialogue looks like it was written by a 5 years old, it is hard to take this game seriously as a survival game or understand the hype behind it.
