Ren'Py - Completed - Mist [v1.0.3] [395games]

Been playing since its initial release and have eagerly played each new update. I havent followed the development nor its community however I do feel that this is an amazing game!!

+ Amazing setup of characters with great bond
+ Really inspiring choice of style and art.
+ Long and potent story which really affects each and every other aspects.

- a bit limited in its own scope, as in defining its "game"
- The need for grinding for food really did nothing for the game. (not talking about leveling, but only food grind)


After about 1/3 of its development I bought a copy of this game on Itch.io.
Will follow 395 games and see what more then can create!

Fantastic game from start to finish. Characters are written fantastically and very loveable (Team Mia 100%.) Story is a bit supernatural but never breaks your suspension of disbelief, something I find a lot of games really fail to pull off. Never got bored even in between the action portions of the story. Amazing stuff really.

Can't wait to see what the dev comes out with next!

One of the best games I ever played from top to bottom.

Pros:
* The Graphics are exceptional and the girls are stunning. I'm pro team Mia myself.
* I typically don't like sandbox styles or more like I'm half and half regarding the usefulness of them. However, there's no way that this game hits this hard if it's a VN game. The jump scares, wandering aspect and overall the whole adventure feel doesn't work unless it's a sandbox style, I'm just being honest here.
* Story is well put together, and keeps you invested the whole time.
* The sex scenes are hot and very fappable.

Cons:

I should've played this sooner, I'm still shaking my head.

This game was a breath of fresh air for me. The plot, characters, h-scenes, environment ambience all were top notch. I would've loved a bit more at the ending but that's just me I guess.

It's a really great game, that worths the time investment. The story is gripping, it kept me on the edge always looking forward for the next update. There is plenty of variation in terms of the adult scenes, wich combined with the kinda unique graphical style makes this an outstanding title. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Now that the story is complete it's time for a review (v0.11)

-Renders: Artstyle was kinda strange at first but you can really tell that the developer improved a lot over time and the renders in the last updates are absolutely top tier, including animations, cinematic camera angles and movement etc.

-Writing: Has been really good from the start and stays interesting all the wqy to the end, all the characters are interesting without being stereotypes or completely out there and the progression feels natural. You don't need to drag up every anime trope to make memorable characters and this game proves it.

-I really liked the pacing, it starts slow and slowly builds up but never gets hectic until the great finale of course. Many games rush through their story but this one has well placed cooldown times where you're just chilling with your girls. The game is long enough to feel like an adventure but not too long, good sweetspot imo but that's very subjective.

-Characters: A bunch of normal people in a crazy scenario, trying to do their best. It feels right. And even the supernatural mystery waifu feels very grounded. I'm not gonna spoil stuff but the game does get dark and serious from time to time and somehow the dev managed to handle it tastefully every time, good job.

-Seggs: There's enough time spent on buildup and enough time after the first time to experience a lot of different things with every character. The writing is good and avoids cringe by having the characters be self aware and acting real. I like a lot of communication and writing during sex scenes, it's a VN afterall.

Overall I really recommend it, there's also no NTR or other controversial stuff in here so yeah just check it out. I actually felt really good after the ending while already missing the characters. That's the sign of a good game imo.

So one of the finest game of this forum has come to an end, initially I was avoiding it because the models were not that appealing to me but decided to give it a try seeing the positive review. I was amazed seeing how nicely story was done along with character development well integrated with it. Definitely worth the play, waiting for the next project from the dev he has set the bar really high for himself.

I love this game. I love the animations. I love the characters. Mist has easily been the most enjoyable game I've have ever had the pleasure of stumbling across.
I got cloudy eyed when I finished it and can't wait to see what 395's next project is.

I'm not a big fan of sanbox type game but the mist is one of a few sanbox game i play and i don't regret it. the rander are good and the story is top-notch, one of the best game in my list. and sorry for my poor english

Anything that you can say about this game has already been said, but hey... this was one hell of a game. Gripping & unique plot, pretty well written. The entire asthetic of the game, from the settings to the music to the lighting, was done incredibly well. Animations and renders were off the chart, although the models themselves were kinda odd.

All in all, thorougly enjoyed the journey here and am looking forward to whatever this dev does next

beautiful game hope devs continues the great job they did on this one with the net project and gets all the supporters they need and than some one of the few that doesn't abandon games and finishes it without it feeling rushed just to get it over with

Seal of approval. Better than most, and complete. Beautiful. There are some flaws and roughness. In the animations, in the story, in the ending, in the characters, there are a lot of them.

But overall it is very good and complete game, so im not bitching. And here i stamp my personal seal of approval.

One of my top 5 favorite games here on this forum and for me one of the best in all the site. I never liked sandboxes in general but when i decided to try this game for fun I probably made one of the best decision in my life. From the high quality level of the renders to the real immersion given by the sounds , Mist is one of those games that must be played at least once in a lifetime.

The things I most appreciated of Mist are the sound and the survival storyline.
Playing with sounds on is really another world. It gave me all kind of emotions , from anxiety to fear.

Each girl is unique and brings their own personality to the story. My favorite is Mia.
The main storyline is pretty interesting too, leaving you wondering about what's causing the mist and how to stop it. Animations are top notch, lewd and not.

I can finally rate this thread since the game is almost finished.

Let me start with my downside of this game: Clicking on stuff feels really wonky sometimes, like clicking on the map for example. Back then I thought it was my potato laptop, but still happens with my new one.

Now the upsides: The story is good enough, it kept people interested in more than the scenes between updates.
It can be considered a game, not just a VN, but the gameplay is easy enough to not piss people off. (Mind you there will be a little bit of grinding to max your stats or to get as much HP you can.)
The scenes are really good, and are diverse enough that there won't be many people saying this game doesn't have something for them.

Overall 5/5, waiting for next project.

Amazing game! So different from what else is out there! Maybe a mystical apocolypse with slight horror themes but it fun to play with a compelling story, likable characters and good motivations. Blissfully free of the tired rapefests. blackmail and non consent, but plenty of roleplay where its meant to be!

EDIT: Lowered my score from 4 stars to 3 after hitting the ending. Way too many unanswered questions. Felt rushed and I'm seeing the whole story now as "wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle". Mostly enjoyed it but the spelling and grammar was embarrassingly poor. Why not run the dialogue through Microsoft Word or in an email? That would solve 90% of it at least. Yikes.

+ Interesting story involving elements of horror that I wasn't expecting, but appreciate
+ Basic combat system, but more depth than I realized was possible with Ren'Py
+ Art style is unique - a bit doofy-looking and not as "realistic" as I've seen with other games, but it works well
- The constant, poor "Engrish" is really distracting ("We saved someones live"). It's not everywhere, but it's so frequent it pulls me out of the story and makes me laugh or roll my eyes - in a game that is supposed to be suspenseful.

this game is easily one of the best games on the site it is an actual game with fun gameplay not just for fapping very creative storyline and i am actually enjoying it so far goodluck to the creator of this game hopefully he succeeds

TL: DR - Unique art, and a story that keeps you interested while having a balance of sexy.

WOW.
That's my first reaction to this game. Let's dive into it head first.

The art-
I don't know what it is, but I like it. It's different, it's new, it's sexy and just works.

The story- an interesting story told in an organic way that makes you feel like you are part of the world without being force fed info in a way that would make things seem unnatural. Yes, there is some (optional) grind. Yes, it helps the story progress. You get emotionally connected with the girls, and may feel stronger to one over the others. That's okay.

H- Scenes- Tasteful and plenty of them. They add to the story and are a good balance. The animations are only getting better, and things are more enjoyable.

Kinks- Tasteful, and not overwhelming. Doesn't interfere with the rest of the story trying to squeeze in something last minute that doesn't make sense.

What could be better?
I have nothing at this point to add. I am enjoying where the story is going, I like the increase in the animations and renders looking better every release.

Positive:

• Great art and animations
• Fine story, albeit a bit bland at times
• Somewhat interesting characters once you get more into the game

Negative:

• The start of the game is bad and should be remade/rewritten
• Girls are complete sluts almost immediately

Neutral:

• Story is very linear, which can be both positive and negative

I like the game and although I found it fun to play, there are a few quirks that should be addressed.

Hello 395games_Rathieu, i have played alot of adult games but for me mist was my most favourite game amongst them, it's story and all the characters i loved them.i love everything about it. i am really very sad that it is ending. Recently my father died and i was very much close to my father thats by i was really sad and mist make me fell quite well from past few days and i have become quite fond of all the characters.i am requesting if possible can you make your next game with the same cast but different story. Thank you for making this wonderful game.
