A VPN is just bouncing the call through someone elses computer. It's useful if the entire site is blocked by your government or something but that is not the case with me. I can access the site it self, I just run afoul of what ever automated mechanism they have to actually start the download. In fact, I can even download something on occasion. It's just that it's like 5% of the time at best.
I will give JDownloader a whirl though. It's worked for a few other things so I might as well try it.
The issue is that a lot of the old games don't have many options. And what options are there are often either deleted on the hoster, connecting to dead sites like Nopi and Annonfiles or Mega which is great but has a hard limit on file size. So I run out of options more often than not.
