Don't let the negative comments deter you. Keep working on it, if you show you're putting the effort into it, and the story/gameplay is actually decent, you'll probably get volunteers to help out with the art right along with improvements you yourself make to it.

Modern gamers just expect far to much right off. It's not directly their faults, well yes and no.

Just keep trying. Focus on the game, the art can come later if the meat and potatoes of it works and works well.

I'm not being empathic, I'm being factual.

Solo person, first attempt at a game and people are expecting gold, or at the very least, silver.

All the while these same people are letting others off scot free with milking the fuck out of patreon on games like accidental woman that have been doing jack all for YEARS milking their patreon. Yeah it's pretty, but considering the amount of money it's pulled in it's a travesty of lackluster and that's just one instance of it.
