I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with my patreon. I have almost 2.500 images posted on patreon, and a total of 45 comics/series. So way more stuff than it was leaked 2 years ago (obviously more than 10-20% incerease as you say). You should have contacted me privately on patreon about your situation, instead of getting lost into scrolling through that patreon page, so I could have assembled a zip archive with my entire collection of images to date.I had a recent experience where I thread somewhat warily nowdays. About 2 or so years ago the work of LBW was leaked and has been doing the internet rounds regularly with new images added monthly. I thought that these new images represented a single sample of new content sets and LBW library of produced work would be much much larger that what was leaked. Afterall it had been 2 years since the leak. Hence, I decided to join his Patreon at the Gold or whatever level as he supposedly releases new work monthly but moves it to the top tier after one month and it is no longer available in lower tiers (I think this is a deliberate ploy). I paid 100 dollars to join the top tier and to my surprise I saw all of the content that was leaked and some new content representing about a 10-20% increase in his work total production.. I was very dis-appointed and to me it seems that LBW just releases one or two images monthly and then moves them to the higher tier hoping to make money of naive people like me. Invariably new images get leaked monthly.
Only if you ever get a chance to have your profile approved. I made an account there exactly one year ago and it was still pending approval up until today when I decided to permanently delete my profile there. Fuck them. The subreddits are full of people waiting for approval for 2 years already. To me at least, subscribestar seems like a company run by two people in a basement, to be honest. Plus you are limited to 20 images/post, now I have comics that have over 200 images, what am I supposed to do, split them into 10 posts?...why don't you use SubscribeStar? It's better known among subscribers and loyal to artists.
and then how you've using Patreon for years?I am not willing to.
I've used it because they were not eneforcing ID verification, up until this month when they froze my payout and sent me a message that they will take down my page on July 28, if I do not comply with their policy.and then how you've using Patreon for years?
if I do not comply with their policy
Obviously they're not targeting me in particular. It's their new policy, enforced by The Almighty Visa and Mastercard, that all adult creators must comply with. Otherwise, I believe they wouldn't give a shit. Anyway, in my opinion, in a year or two, Patreon will be forced to completely forbid all adult content on their platform, just like Gumroad and many others. Time will tell.
... I'm sorry they got to you. I've always liked your artwork and your style.
Hi LBW:I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with my patreon. I have almost 2.500 images posted on patreon, and a total of 45 comics/series. So way more stuff than it was leaked 2 years ago (obviously more than 10-20% incerease as you say). That top tier you're talking about was specifically made to prevent another massive leak like that one from two years ago, because my thinking was that people who pay high prices for something, are less likely to leak/share that stuff with others for free. And apparently it worked so far and hopefully it stays that way. So it was not created to trick anyone, it was simply a precautionary measure. Additionally, everytime I knew I couldn't deliver enough content in a month I simply paused all payments on patreon for that particular month, I even refunded all money to all patrons if the pledge was not fulfilled. So your accusations are a bit hasty, based on assumptions rather than facts.
In my experience, people usually treat artists (yeah, even 3d porn creators are artists) like merchants. They want to pay cheap prices, or rather nothing at all, for as much content as possible. That's not how things work. And when things get leaked you do a huge disservice to those artists since you're cutting off their income source, and eventually they'll abandon their endeavor in search of something else. And I can name a few great artstis in this niche, OGDX and Lexx228 who are on my mind right now, that have either stopped producing or reduced their production rate because of piracy. Then add the Witch Hunt started by Patreon, and very soon you'll add many more to the list, me included.
Again, I'm sorry for your experience. A simple private chat on patreon may have solved or clarified your issue.
Best regards,
LBW
Yes, you interpreted my comment incorrectly. I was talking about the platforms itself, not the subscribers and certainly not the pricing policies of individual artists.I'm interpreting your comment, perhaps incorrectly
