Macey Madison is a wife and a mother. She has a good job and lots of friends. Ask anyone, and they'd say her life is perfect. Maybe too perfect. Maybe too...boring. That boredom is what's brought Macey to the park today. It took a few weeks and a little courage, but she finally signed up for the dating app her bestie had told her about. The promise of the discrete excitement an extramarital affair would bring into her life was too enticing to pass up.
She'd never met Kevin, but the two had hit it off almost immediately on the app. Anytime she could sneak away for a little alone time, the two would exchange messages. Today would be the first time she and Kevin would would meet face to face.
As soon as he saw Macey standing there, Jack's heart raced. The moment of truth had finally arrived. Jack has known Macey and her family for as long as he could remember. Her son, Tyler, is his best friend. Macey had been the subject of Jack's many late night fantasies for the last few years. She's everything he's ever dreamed of - beautiful, smart, and kind. Unfortunately, to her, he's just a kid.
He used to tell himself he'd never have a shot with a woman like her. That is, until his luck changed a couple weeks ago. While watching a movie at the Madison's house with Tyler, Jack asked to borrow a phone to call his parents. Macey didn't think anything of it. She handed him her phone and Jack stepped out into the hallway to make the call. He couldn't resist taking a quick peek at her phone first though. Imagine his surprise when he found the dating app!
One fake profile later, and he was in heaven. He was talking to the woman of his dreams -- his best buddy's mom no less! And the things she was saying...Wow! She even sent a few racy pics. When she asked to meet him today, he saw it as his chance to tell her how he feels about her. She's obviously lonely, and he was sure he could fill the void in her life. This would be his big chance, and it was now or never.
<clears throat> "Uh...Mrs. Madison...I mean, Macey..."
She startled as he placed his hand on her shoulder. "Kev... I mean, Jack? Umm.. what are you doing here?" Jack was probably the last person she expected to see at the park today. If she wasn't nervous before, she certainly was now. What if Kevin showed up while Jack was standing here? She had to get rid of him, quick!
Jack just stood there, staring at her like a dough eyed idiot. "Jack? Hello, Jack? Are you okay? Listen, I don't have a lot of time to talk. I'm ...uh... meeting a friend here soon. Why don't you come over to the house tomorrow. I'm sure Tyler would love to hang out with you." Her face was flushed as she struggled to shoo the boy along.
