Version 0.6.8.1.0 16th May 2025
MAJOR:
- New short scene for an alternative completion of 0-3 "A Long Walk". It's even shorter if you have "Extreme Breast Expansion" turned off. To get it, you need to go to the chest tiles, get both the cow bell and wishing ring and then talk to the Ram on the right side of the shrine.
MINOR:
- Expanded the fox's shrine in 0-3 "A Long Walk", there's an extra Ram that now has a short conversation. If you're ram-classed, you'll enter from that side and talk automatically. It's now harder to hypnotize rams to leave, it requires horns.
- After the special scene you'll get alternative dialogue when the fox-girl confronts you before RouteA11.

I was baited by a Rule34 post about the blue foxgirl futanari into wasting 2 hours of my time into this shit. Apparently, this game has been in development since 2021 and this is all it has to show for? Not to mention the weird ass wonky control. What a waste of time and potential

Maybe if I feel like it. And even if not that does not exempt the game from criticism. This banal dumbass argument of "iF u CaN't MaKe SoMeThInG lIkE tHat, dOnT jUdGe" has gotten pretty damn old. Grow up and learn all things are subject to criticism from everyone.

While he could've worded it better, you yourself didn't exactly portray yourself in a positive way.

The least you could do is expound on what apparently is the problem this "shit", as you so put it, has. For example, what is wrong with the controls? Or what do you believe is apparently missing for a game that's been in development this long?

Because for a dev that is, as far as I understand it, making practically every part off the game himself( bar a few of the endings which I believe they commissioned from other artists), they've done pretty well in making this game so far.

I'd like to factor in a few things: This game is made by a single person (mostly. Sound effects, music and some pieces of art like the endings are not made by Kamuu).

So obviously, development on this is really slow if we factor everything in there. That being said, I wish there was more. The controls are awkward and I still can't really grasp the way the game functions. It's one of the more weirder games I've played in terms of controls but nothing to really call it "bad" for. It's very likely a skill issue on my part.

For the most part enemies have one or two pre-defined actions they'll take depending on what you do on your turn and how far away you are. The main annoyance for me is that it's not shown beforehand. Turn-based but you can't see the enemies' turns, so you have to guess. Then again, if you can just run through perfectly you'll never have any chance at getting corrupted.

I do wish they'd change how the egg skill works, because it's really clunky and frustrating to use. Would rather chuck them like torches or something.

Regarding controls, it feels clunky and unresponsive at times and sometimes, the enemies just pile on and you're stunlocked while resisting sometimes doesn't work. Feels like it was a normal platformer it would flow much smoother. There was an attempt at unique platformer turn based mechanics and honestly it feels clunky

Secondly the content. Most things here are static images and implications through text and that's it. You don't really get much action aside from maybe 1 or 2 enemies and maybe 2 endings at best. It doesn't go deep enough for the kind of games it presents. When I look at other similar 2D platformers, I see more enemy actions and variations in poses than in here, which left me disappointed. I acknowledge the efforts put in the game but it just falls short of expectations of something of this genre and the time frame it took for development, which is since mid 2021 as I have seen from one reviewer that stated that on itch.io. What I liked are the kitsune animations both variations, the bondage loss into Satyr futa ending and maybe the Harpy egg curse. Everything else felt weak.

I feel like controls just comes down to a matter of opinion/preferences, as I think I've seen people express both thoughts similar to yours and the opposite on it here. I personally don't mind the controls, and haven't had much difficulties with them that weren't due to me being stupid in some way. Evidently others like you find problems with it or simply don't like it. Not sure what could be changed about them that wouldn't require a full overhaul or rework on the devs part honestly.

As for the content, honestly I can't personally think of any other game quite like Moncurse, in the sense of being a turn based 2d side scroller. Almost every other side scroller I can think of is some sort of metroidvania, platformer, or brawler/action game; which usually means that, regardless of being pixel, 3D or fully animated/drawn sprites, they either have full sprite sex in the world itself, or you have to die/lose in order to fade into a scene( animated or not). And that's not taking into account how few there are that do transformation as well. So I'd say that for what its aiming for and trying to do( which is mostly transformation with some side of sex), it does it well.

I won't say its perfect, and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like more scenes or even animations, but knowing that its essentially a 1-man workforce, I'm somewhat fine with the about 2 inworld/map scenes and 1 ending for most of the enemies, and just hope that once the game is mostly finished, the dev will hopefully add a few more per enemy, assuming we don't end up with a bloated amount of enemies that is.

...you're not wrong, I can be a little bit sharper at times than I should be. So I apologize to Krinkelz on that count. I don't apologize for the sentiment, however; there's a line between criticism and just shitting on something.

I think really part of it too is (and I had the same thing happen to me when I was developing a game) is you can see the dev getting better as they continue making the game. Legitimately the imps far outstrip the catgirls in how creative they are. It's not exactly the deepest game, I'll give you that, but what's there is unique and to me that's worth something.

Its that time of the month again, so here we have a new update!

While there isn't THAT much to the new content, its still arguably more substantial than what was in the last version I skipped.
Now, what was added you may ask? Well a new dong! Specifically, a PLAYER dick. So yes, now you can be a futa.

For now its just a thing you can have and the npcs/enemies will comment on, and it also shows up in some scenes where it'd be relevant. But presumably it'll do more in future versions, AND there might be alternative styles/types of cocks too that you can gain.

If its not your cup of tea, there is a content/kink toggle you can use so you don't have to deal with it.

Now for you slobs too lazy to read the changelog, you can get it from a new shard/item that imps drop when defeated. Collect enough of them and now you've got dick. Anyways that's enough yapping from me, happy gooning and see you next version!
