your game is in V0.16 and you make 8k a month if a product is good the community will support it on patreon regardless who cares if it leaks it just gives you more traffic through your patreon

1-3 Special Patreon SCENES thats way more fair i think.

I mean it is not like one person is taking all this money. Making a game like this takes a team, freelancers, bought assets, software licenses, Patreon fees, taxes and so on. You would be surprised how little there is left for one team member in the end. Personally, we don't care about leaks but also looking at grapheon our income always tanks when the version is leaked and that's a fact.
We would consider making the free version that close to the Patreon version but you have to consider we also plan to release on Steam soon, and that makes no sense if your game is pretty much 100% free already, since it is one-time payment for endless updates.

Usually, I would make an update post about it but since the Patreon version got leaked most are probably not gonna care but actually, I think even tho it is the public version it is the superior version already.
We just released a public version 0.14.0 with a few cool new features that are not in the leaked Patreon version(even tho the number is smaller, the number just relates to the main story progress, not features)

Bro your team use the same excuses every bad dev does for money. just be honest about wanting money. Like in time you had your progress is the same as the EA dev teams that dont finish their game and sell it. All you porn devs do is make a crap ton of money and never produce anything. early access games shouldnt even exist its just money grubbing devs who like Early access so they can scum money out of people and abandon the project or rushto finish it to keep as muchmoney as possible. Also your statement here proves you are a big scam to make some quick money. you see why would a 0.14 have more in it than a leak 0.15.1 version when theres 0.16 up there as well. this means you literally went back and added things to an old version or didnt fully add in the things you said were in there. So either you are hiding content between the type of version(scummy AF btw) or your going back and editing previous versions which is just weird. but this def shows your 0.14 number doesnt matter. if 0.14 can have more in it than a 0.15 build than your numbers dont mean anything and they are jsut used as flare to make it look like you are real programmers cuz real game programmers use versions.
You see when using versions is actually for devs to know when they added things not even for consumers, when you are using this method, a 0.1 build should stay the exact same as it was released. so if my game is 0.5 and I just added some stuff but nothing major you then use. 0.51. or lets saya normal update than its gonna be 0.6 but 0.5 stays the exact same as I started updating it. but you just said0.14 has more than 0.15 which means you do not correctly use this method and literally jsut using it to look professional because a leaked 0.15.1 should have more than a free public 0.14 and if you did what CDPR did which is make multiple different versions of the game then that is a really ineffective and a giant waste of resources and would explain why people would complain about giving you money cuz why would I give someone money that they gonna waste on trying to update two different versions of a game.

Realistically devs in this genre of game development SHOULD want to have their game featured on this site. Featuring a free game on this site is FREE traffic and audience reach. This site allows players to try a game and then decide whether or not to support the dev as they continue work on the game. F95 had 750k visitors in June alone. Even so, this is such a small niche of a gaming community that most devs here are only small teams or even just one person. These people don't have the backing of a AAA publisher. I agree with the fact that the Monolith Bay team should continue work on this game and expanding it's features. I've developed some games in my spare time and I have to say that a lot of the features in this game are pretty impressive and very time consuming to implement especially when doing the programming solo or with a very small team.
I prefer not to get involved in arguments on the Internet. But damn it!

This is an example of why I feel the dev is being... silly here. This site basically has two types of people: those who are NEVER going to pay, and guys like Abshkardyh here who want to try it free before investing. The game is good, imo. The leaked versions here are exposing guys like Abshkardyh to it, who might not otherwise have found it. It's basically free advertising that will draw funders in.
The other group are never going to pay anyway. It's not drawing potential spenders away from the dev team. This group will just opt to *not play the game* rather than buy it. Either they can't afford to, or they just refuse to. Dev's claim that their funds drop every time a version gets leaked here is very likely correlation, not causation.
The game was *much* better than expected though. If you're part of Group A, I definitely recommend giving it a play to see if you want to pay on Patreon/Steam. This dev team/game could really go places if they get enough funding.

If the free version is only 2-3 months behind, and the game is as good as you all claim it is, then why not just be supportive of the creator's decision and wait a little? I'm broke and I can't even afford to spend $15 at the movies every time a big movie comes out. So I patiently wait until I can watch it on cable. Was it annoying that my co-workers talked about Tony Stark's sacrifice when I hadn't seen the movie yet? Heck yeah... But at least you don't have to go to your job at McDonalds and hope nobody talks about some space pirates update in a p0rn game (or maybe you do; I don't know your coworkers).
To the guy bitching about the creator just wanting to make money: What's wrong with wanting to make money? Heck, he puts in the hard work, he deserved the money. And he's not even like those lazy creators that pushes out a tiny update every 6 months and still shamelessly takes money from his monthly subscribers. This guy has been consistently bringing us good content every month. Can't pay? No problem. This generous dude is letting you play for free if you can wait a few months (I mean, you end up waiting 4-6 months for those other lazy creators to push out their lame updates anyway; this guy is actually getting you good content each update. Just wait the damn 2-3 months to play for free).
I would be totally empathetic to your comments if this was some lazy guy who ripped a story off literotica, googled some images and slapped together another Ren'py visual novel and called it a 'game'. But you already know this is quality work, or you wouldn't be here.

And even if we consider the free-traffic-angle, that's why the creator has given us the free version / demo. I played it recently, and there is more than enough content to help you decide if you want to invest or not (or recommend to your friends at McDonalds). There is so much content that you can't even call it a Demo anymore, and Demos that usually have 1 or 2 chapters are more than plenty for you to make a decision.
Our man Abshkardyh clearly states that he tried the 'free' version of the game, not the leaked version. His review is thoughtful and refreshing. Let me also echo his comments to the people spitting venom at the creator. Guys, show some f*ing class! This is his game that he worked hard to create. If you don't like his content or his release schedule/policies, then move on to another game/creator. But let's face the reality; no matter how good of a game you find, you're still going to complain and act like children.
