Bringing in the girls from the defunct online game? If so, I humbly request Emeth get added somewhere on the earlier side of that group.
I'm using their sprites for NPCs, but rewriting the lore and characters. I never played any of the games, so I have no attachment to them.

Since I didn't read it but judging by the tags of the fanfic, your goal is to succeeded were the author failed with the manga by spamming filler after filler arc, and instead adding the seggs and nsfw it lacked right?

Interesting. My expectation is that they would be abundant. I wonder why they're not...
There are, although not with all of those specific tags. There is a variance in what tags are generally applied, but there is a significant amount of emphasis on harem, male protag, etc just on these forums alone. Now, as for projects with those tags that get finished...

I like the idea, I eventually lost interest in the manga because it was basically one big blue-balling story. Despite the supposed ban on interspecies relations, later chapters made it transparently obvious that man are screwing monster girls all over the place, so Kimihito basically spending the entire series doing his best to AVOID getting laid by the gorgeous lusty monstergirls who adore him was honestly pathetic. Sure, lots of hot monstergirl fanservice, but at that point you might as well just go read monstergirl hentai manga instead. About the only thing that made it worth reading was the humour, and that wasn't quite enough for me any more.

Yeah, I've been using fan art whenever possible. I'm a shit artist. I also used art from some official game projects.
That's WORSE. Using fan art means inconsistant art styles where characters look different from one scene to the next. You can see it right there in the preview images: the first shot of Miia is one of the coloured pages from the manga, the second one is fan art, and the third is a screenshot of the anime. Commission a single artist to do your art, learn to draw, or at the very least learn to use AI competently, but scavenging art from here and there to put your game together just makes you look third-rate (and depending on whose art you use and how you get it, possibly like a thief).

I agree with the criticism of the source material. Let the monster smut flow!

Point taken. A consistent art style is better than inconsistent.

However, this project isn't intended to look commercial or professional. It's a fan project created with a pre- existing IP which renders it commercially impotent.

The commercially viable aspect of this project will be the custom dating sim engine I'm writing, which I can certainly retool with commissioned art for future projects.

My purpose in making this project is not to have a marketable product, but rather to actually have a finished product at all. I haven't finished any of my game projects yet, so this is an attainable learning project for me.

And I figured that I ought to share it with players if I'm going to be working on it anyway.
