Thought I'm gonna make a quick render of a monster girl, but ended up searching for hours for nothing... DAZ really has almost nothing when it comes to moster girls figures..
So I ended up using a zombie model texture on a custom figure, edited the shit out of it and added a tale, because i like tails^^

at all? I haven't tried it myself but these stylistic, concept sketches for creatures (see below) were interesting. Yeah, are we talking about rendered or hand-drawn games? There're plenty upon plenty of monster girls in the latter, and I don't think my opinion on the former would contribute much to the discussion.
Not, mind you, that I'm suggesting folks should stop with the monster girls. Monster girls, furries, anthropomorphic pocket monsters, non-anthropomorphic pocket monsters, straight-up talking animals--they're all fine.
Now, the over-representation of succubi in porn games happens for obvious reasons. It's trivial to throw a tail, some horns, and some tattoos on a woman and--poof, a succubus is born. Elves, pixies, and kemomimi folks are in the same boat. You have to get into MGQ levels of monster before things start getting rarer, and a portion of that is just that they're hard to draw consistently.
I have sorta always wondered why MGQ knockoffs haven't been more popular in the English world considering how well that game did. Maybe it was just a fluke, or maybe it wasn't as popular as I had thought that it was. Then again, a big part of the success of that game, I think, was that the many different (quality) artists came together to make such a variety of experiences. Also the story wasn't terrible and the combat worked okay--it was kind of a secret puzzle game the same way that Punch-Out is a secret puzzle game.
I've always thought that an English-language knockoff of Slave Matrix would be a hit. I think the difficulty with that game certainly must have been getting screencaps of all the different body parts out of 3D Custom Girl. It must have taken hours of labor or custom software to get that done. Repeating all that work for an English market probably wouldn't be a good use of manpower, so I don't know how exactly to effectively knock that game off. That's probably why it hasn't been done. Portals of Phereon kinda does the breeding thing, to an extent, and I don't think the touching part of the game is necessarily something EN-language audiences would all enjoy. I still think it'd find a niche.
And then there's EraMegaten, which lets you find and have sex with something like 1000 different SMT/Persona demons, which folks probably know can get pretty bizarre. Naturally most folks will just grab Lilim and Nekomata, but the options for Zombie Dogs or whatever are there. Of course, it's a text game, but that's still impressive. It's WAY too doofy/grindy for the average porn gamer, even if it were in English.

Why are monsters so often cast as bad or evil? bigotry everywhere. Even the NTR haters apply a double standard when it comes to non humans. "Tentacles are ok, but no dudes" and some NTR fans get mad when they catch their girl in bed with their best friend, just because he happens to be a dog or a monster.

For MGQ fans, look for Ken Ashcorp's "Touch Fluffy Tail" song if you haven't already listened to it before. (I'm sorry for not providing a link for it, but I can't seem to find a good audio for it to listen online. The ones I found just now sounds terrible on my end. Le sigh.

I've got a few monster girl projects on the back burner. Not sure when I'll get around to them though.
One is going to be a text adventure game (The Ever-Setting Sun) that I already have the story mapped out for and quite a bit written, but since I wanted to do hand painted backgrounds for it and I was running into computer issues that were preventing me from doing large paintings it ended up falling to the wayside and I just haven't got back to it yet now that my system has been fixed - I got sucked into a gaming binge and am now back to work on my primary game. Among the planned roster though are the following species of monster girls: akaname (long tongued girl), angel, demon, elf, ghoul, lamia, matango (mushroom girl), mermaid, ogre, usagimimi (bunny girls), vampire, werebeast (cat in this case), and witch. I've actually got enough story ideas to make this a series with at least 3 games and introduce a fair few more species for the other games.
The other is going to be a (probably) 2D short VN called Chance Encounter about a guy who stumbles upon a monster girl out in the wild and has to decide how he will handle the situation with 3 possible outcomes (kinda based on typical rpg interaction options - talk, fight, or run away). The star of that one would be a

girl (so she would basically be a rabbit girl with fangs, antlers and bird wings). That was originally going to be my first game, but when I got the inspiration to make Taking in a Stray, I ended up switching gears entirely and just haven't had a chance to get back to it yet. I did start to mess around with sculpting a rough model of her to use as reference once I got around to working on the paintings for the game, but it still needs a ton of work.
