"anon_stroke_loop_offscreen" should be displayed infront of suzie, not behind. Minor things.
I think it was fine, as long as it's viewed through a narrative lens and not a fetish lens - which will be difficult round these parts. I saw it as the former - it drives the intrigue forward about the town and the old landlord. Furthermore, assuming you intervened, it did a great narrative job of showing not telling how the common townspeople are all frightened of that group of cronies. I didn't find it anymore tonally incongruent than any of the other horror-themed stuff earlier on.
Agreed with this part though - that was a little much given the escalation - what's more; it serves as active bait for the people that want fetish content out of this - ala the token bully to march in and stomp him and have his way with Suzy. I'd say the scene was perfect barring the kiss.
The goons holding her mouth was a much more effective "violation" depiction without treading into fetish land.

good points all around. i love the idea of a villain, not enough VNs actually have real stakes and obstacles to overcome, it's nice.

While I do love Caleb as a bully that could steal Suzie from MC, I liked the feeling you could fight back against him because you don't know or care how powerful his reputation is. Without knowing your plans, I can imagine you either trying to avoid Caleb and his cronies when navigating the main story, fighting against him physically or with some schemes, or giving into your kink and letting Suzie be claimed by him. The latter feels like you're letting yourself be defeated by Caleb--now he has more control over you.
