Do you guys think there will be more output by the devs cuz of the corona virus?
I personaly have a lot more free time right now so that might the same for some developers..

Oh, hell no! Most of the devs (especially the unreliable ones like the dev of Bad Bobby Saga) are gonna claim they have corona and postpone the release while begging for understanding and money. Mark my words. It will become the new trend.

-Oh no! I cave contracted the six month version of corona and cant do anything, but i have bills to pay so: "mooneys plox!".

For the devs who are doing it as a side gig I wouldn't be surprised. Most employers in my area are requiring everyone who can do their job from home to do so in addition to outright cancelling much of the work that is not time critical. I actually just got out of a meeting where everyone on my team was basically told not to do anything for a month. Fortunately I'm salaried so I don't mind :)

In theory, yes. More free time could mean more time to work on games, it also could happen as someone said before that it could be another excuse to not work, or maybe that dev is sick or have sick people to attend. Sometimes having "free time" from work just mean having more "work time" in the house.

I'm a dev and having more time to work on my game doesn't really mean more content, it mostly means that I will have to stand everyone else being at home complaining about how much it sucks and why everything the other one knows about the virus is wrong, because apparently everyone here are infectologist from day to night and they know everything about it (please kill me) but I'm trying my best to work on my game because it's my hobbie and it's the thing I want to do the most. In this two days I did more than in two regular days.

Now, as a player it could mean way more free time to play games, people doesn't put excuses to enjoy (just to work), people will catch up with the games they once played, pick new games, etc. Some people will chill & netflix the whole time while others will play porn games the whole time.

Most devs are likely going to be losing money since patrons will have less income while staying home from work.

I'm not grumpy, I'm just coded that way.

Interestingly enough, you assume that devs don't have a family with kids.

Working on your game while your kids are doing their school works, gently playing in their room or outside, or simply sleeping, isn't at all the same than working on it when they are bored as fuck because confined at home all day long.

Not working doesn't automatically mean free time.

A lot of devs here have families so just because they aren't going into work doesn't mean they have nothing else to do.

They are home from work but so are their partners and schools are shut so kids are home. Some people have less free time now because everyone is home.

Yes and no for me, personally. The extra time at home has allowed me to get a bit further ahead in coding for the next two updates, and I built two new mini-games I'm kinda proud of. That said, my wife developed symptoms last week and we put her in isolation. There's only one reported case of covid 19 in our area (we haven't been able to get my wife tested), but better safe than sorry. As of yesterday, she was feeling considerably better. Of course, taking care of her has been first priority throughout this time.

My project doesn't have a significant audience size, so it's been mostly funded by my extra income (and I actually intended to stop doing that, but haven't yet). That's what worries me now, as my other businesses are at considerably high risk of being deeply affected by these current events. It kinda sucks :( - but more important than anything is our health. I've been homeless before. Worst case, I can do it again. lol

Maybe it is not related. But in the latest seven days, these games came back:
- Love and Submission
- Katie's Corruption
- The Family Secret
- Iris Quest

So far from developers announcements a lot of them are claiming it will take LONGER for their updates. So, yea, just another excuse for some I suppose.
As has been explained, devs also have families that are at home too and not all of them have time off work. Some have to work more hours to compensate those that are off.

Free time hasn't increased.

I'm working from home, and when you factor in me sleeping in a bit later in the morning, the lack of a commute is saving me about half an hour a day. Which doesn't really change my project schedule in any noticeable way, since that usually goes towards video games.

With all this added free time.. you could even make a game of your own? How about it?

It's harder. More people under-foot, wandering around. I'm mostly doing coding, since that reduces the risk of my family wandering in while I'm rendering something awkward.
