I so regret what I buy 3060Ti, but at that time I didn't even think about using DAZ

I went from a 1070 to 3080TI to a 4080.
I remember the 1 hour + rendering on my 1070 back in my early days of daz.

When I upgraded my card earlier this year I read a few reviews here on F95 about upgrading to the latest GPU. The review said "A new card won't help you make your renders look better. Your renders will still look like shit, but you can make your shitty looking renders faster." Brutal, but made me re-think it. Instead of the 4080 (I really wanted) I dropped to a 4070 super ($50 cheaper than 4070). I also kept my old 2060 and run both, I was too cheap to just toss it.

OMG! just upgraded to 4.23 and now have the A-Z complete alphabet not just 7 letters and I didn't even have the good letters.

It will not make your renders look better but it will do them quicker,making them look good is up to you not your card.

That's why I dropped down a tier. That review opened my eyes. (expectations vs reality) The only way to get better is practice and more practice. no shortcuts unfortunately.

The issue with the iray preview being slow is from this setting in general tab that from 2.22 onward gets set by default to

when i switched back to "Never" it moves smooth as butter.

Ok, i've figure it out, i'll leave here the settings, the optimization tab is why was getting low textures, it was set on that on the old default. 2.47 min this render with these settings, the new Progressive Aux Canvas setting i think is connected to the canvases tab, it also made a EXR file in a folder in the Render Library, so idk about that, i'm guessing that's if you want to save the scene lighting, i know canvases has more uses, like saving masks and other, but i never used it.
I also did notice with that option it made the background that wasn't pure black to exactly that.
